The End

‘The conscious is cancerous if allowed to linger’

"Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there."

I imagine it is more a nightmare to get in that it is a nightmare on the job. One benefit of an intensive interview process.

Remember kids: when Uncle Delta tells you he has sweeties, he isn't lying.

Now get in the van.

smart, interesting, seems out of place.

Official fan of Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, (Problem with that?) Halo, and Bungie, also a total gaming junkie.

Personally, I don't feel I'm in competition with my peers around the studio. Part of that is a product of our hiring practices. As a rule, we hire people who are passionate at being good at their jobs. There's enough self-applied pressure to perform that the studio doesn't have to add any extra.

Sure, because I work in the games industry my job's less secure than it would be if I were usability testing accounting software, but I'm happy to trade a little security for the chance to work on a product I really believe in.

I can't take any of your posts seriously. Whenever I read them, I hear them in Dr. Bunsen's voice.

OT: Well, no job is secure in this climate. But, since Bungie is getting even bigger with their contract with Activision, I can't imagine them letting a boatload of people go.

So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

Like any other job, you have to work hard to keep it I suppose. You really have to stand out from the crowd from what I know. Working in the gaming industry is the most wanted job now really.

Who said it's impossible to get fired from Bungie? It's possible to get fired from any job. Just don't screw up and you're all good. As for layoffs, they do happen and it is an ugly part of life. I don't know if I'll ever work in the industry, but if I ever do I will try Bungie, along with any other gaming company that is hiring. It's just that Bungie requires a lot of experience so I would need a lot of that first. Even with a lot of experience, you still can get fired for screwing up badly I suppose.

And that my friends is the attitude that ensures job security at Bungie.

Halcylon still works there, so I'd imagine that once you're in, it's basically impossible to get fired.
Do we actually consider what Hal does to be work?

Of course...
Screwing around with GIMP and PS all day isn't all fun and games...

Anyways, I would imagine that if a employee managed to get hired, they would be too much of an asset to get rid of, in a way.

They only hire the few they need, and that are good and passionate enough. Chances are having people be fired or let go because of relative quality or other traits would be few and far between, and not a cold affair.

I run Skirmish!!!

I would imagine just like with a lot of other jobs with stress and deadlines, as long as you do your job well and keep on track, you will be working at the job (bungie) for as long as you work hard for the company. But if you slack off and miss a deadline or screw something up, yeah your job might be up in the air.

I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

I <3 Halo:Reach - amazingly fun and best campaign + amazing Soundtrack
I <3 Halo 3:ODST - best soundtrack + Firefight + Coastal Highway and Mombassa Streets, amazingly unique campaign.
I <3 Halo 3 - best multiplayer levels + Forge + best Custom Games + soundtrack
I <3 Halo 2 - amazing huge fun campaign + soundtrack + Fun multiplayer
I <3 Halo: CE - started it all

This is one thing im nervous about in the future. I'm hoping to go to college in computer science and computer designing and find a job suitable for me at a studio, but I feel like I my work just wont be good enough for the people around me.
