I've wondered this. Can Ninjas/Bungie employees see past the -Blam!- filter?
It changes the actual text and character-count of your post upon posting a censored word, so I doubt it.

Seeing a continuous flow of curse words would get annoying.

Because those words are never used in actual discussion, and would motivate rule breaking.

I'm gonna finish it. Just like Jigga did to the pyramid.

Because these words may be used in an offensive nature rather than for comical effect. And we can't have that otherwise the ninjas would have to work overtime with the amount of flaming surely to ensue.

Perpetual Ninja in training.

Los Paranoias

Two things;

It's easier to filter out all profane words than just a select few, and you get better discussions when you don't alone for a small vocabulary.

They made M games, what if they decide to make a T game? It would just be easier to just put the filter and make the site friendly to anyone. You can't tell if a site is safe for minors unless they have some big ugly sign on the front of it stating otherwise.

I understand the need for a blam filter but it would be nice if we could toggle it on or off in our preferences.

It's the intent of the words that matters not the words themselves; with the exception of racial slurs.

Because rule number 34.

Also because this is not 4chan.

I mean, Bungie has made rated M (Mature) games before...why shouldn't we be able to use the same language that is used in the games?

I'm sure this has been brought up before but I can't see a reason for why we have one...was it because this site was intended for a younger audience than the games?

Because everyone is very mature and capable of bringing their point across without using profanities.

This is just a precaution that has worked well.
