It'll probably have about 1,000.

Oblivion was slated to have 200 hours of gameplay, and had 1,200 gamerpoints.

Since Halo 3's campaign might last 25 hours at the most, I'll say you'll get about 75 gamerpoints for completing it on any difficulty, and mebye an extra 25 or so for legendary.

considering that since November 9, 2004, I myself have logged about 4000 games, I don't know how anyone is going to be able to log 10000 by the time the next gen after PS3 and X360 comes out...anyway, the limit for gamerpoints for a single game is 1000 points spread over a minimum of 5 achievements and a maximum of 50....also there cannot be any achievements that are exclusive to certain people so like being the top player in the world shouldn't be an achievement. Lastly, being that there will undoubtedly be cheaters, there shouldn't be achievements for being on any leaderboards at all, it should be about kill or match counts and campaign achievements

i agree

Gamerpoints are points that you get from "beating" certain feats given to you in a game. These 'feats' or 'challenges' are called achievements and are different in every game (obviously)....each achievement that you complete awards u with gamer points which are shown on your gamercard..So far (and probably always), all "CD" 360 games have had a possible of 1000 points you could achieve...

So that being said, Halo 3 is probab....most likely to have 1000 points..

and i like your guys' ideas above..

not true...GRAW had 926 or something...count 'em up

Oblivion has 1,200 gamerpoints, so I'm not too sure on the 1,000 point cap.

This is a great thread! Here are my ideas for gamerpoints:
___________________________________________________________

You start out with 5 points.
___________________________________________________________

Campaign
* Beating the game on Easy - 30 points
* Beating the game on Normal - 45 points
* Beating the game on Herioc - 70 points
* Beating the game on Legendary - 100 points
* Beating the game on Legendary with the Blind Skull (If there was an easter egg like this in H3) - 175 points
* Beating the game on Legendary with the Black Eyed Skull (If there was an easter egg like this in H3) - 210 points
* Beating the game on Legendary with the Mythic Skull (If there was an easter egg like this in H3) - 390 points
* Beating the game on Legendary 5 times - 500 points
___________________________________________________________

Multiplayer
* Getting a Killing Spree - 10 points
* Getting a Running Riot - 20 points
* Getting a Rampage - 30 points
* Getting a Berserker - 40 points
* Getting an Untouchable - 50 points
* Getting a Double Kill - 5 points
* Getting a Triple Kill - 15 points
* Getting a Killtacular - 25 points
* Getting a Kill Frenzy - 40 points
* Getting a Killtrocity - 65 points
* Getting a Killimanjaro - 90 points
* Stayed alive during the whole game - 20 points
* Won(FFA) - 30 points
* Won(Team) - 10 points
* Recieved Good Feedback - 1 point
* Didn't quit for 15 straight games - 5 points
* Didn't betray for 30 straight games - 10 points
___________________________________________________________

Other
* Played for 77 hours - 77 points
___________________________________________________________

In total if you got one of everything, you would get 2,063 points!

1 Point? Why even bother?

ANd why the hell such a weird number?

  • 06.13.2006 5:04 PM PDT

It's just my opinions, so please don't flame.

Some people have control of other gamertags, which would make it easy to get points by giving themselves good feedback, so I would say just 1 point for getting good feedback.

Well, Microsoft appointed a limit of 1000 gamerpoints per game. I'm sure they won't make an acception for Bungie (no offense), but it's practical. What matters is what achievements there are. I think that a game with good achievements would have many achievements and low wages for easy achievements and somewhat bigger wages for harder achievements. Perfect Dark Zero is a good example for a game with good achievements. In my opinion, Halo 3 should have achievements like PDZ but more, and some more interesting ones (like for finding easter eggs).

Well sorry. I didn't know the 1000 points per game rule.

How about 1000? You know, Microsoft did say that every game would have 1000 Gp's, no more, no less. How the game people distribute them is up to the game people.

*is sad that such a topic was even posted*

Funny you say that, because it is wrong. All games must have a minimum of 1000 points, and can have up to as many as they want and allocate them in any manner they see fit.

thats wrong too tho. GRAW only has like 900 something. i don't know if any game can have over 1000. i've asked people at xbox.com and they've all said that 1000 is the limit but maybe they're wrong

how about if you beat it on legendary once you get the gamerpoints for beating it on easy/normal/heroic automatically? It would jsut be stupid to go back and beat it on the easier difficulties just for the gamerpoints...

not neccesarily. once you beat it on say easy or normal then you know where to go on all the levels and all the tricks through the game. if you try to beat it on legendary first you'll not only have to find your way through the levels but you'll also be getting killed more often.

I got all the oblivion points, are you sure? I know I heard somewhere that no more than 1000 points would be given to each game. If I am wrong, (which happened once last year too) I am sorry, and humbly beg forgiveness.

Funny monkey? thats wierd seeing as how Oblvion has 1,200 points.

oh and Ponts should only be awarded for co-op or single player acheivments.

Because of all the modders, and cheats, its pointless to have achievments for halo3 MP things. absoloutly pointless.

Oblivion has 1000 gamerpoints. Click this link to view a friend of mine's achievements. 50/50, 1000 gamerpoints for Oblivion

EDIT: Lets try to get back to talking about Halo 3 and what gamerpoints should be on that game. i'm starting to think that there shouldn't be any Multiplayer gamerpoints available as someone said because of modders and other cheaters. keep it to only the campaign.

All I know is that Halo 3 should have and exceptionally higher amount of points that usual games.. for 1 Halo IS the main reason the xbox sold so well.. so basically withouth halo microsoft would be no where in the console world.and also its the last in the trilogy..it needs to stand out every way possible.
