I always thought that the Gravemind and the thousands of Flood combat forms on High Charity were going to jump to earth in Halo 3. Then they would find some way to the surface (A crash landing of High Charity in Africa would be cool). And try and secure the Ark so nowone could use it, or the halo's against them.

But then i remeber something. The forerunner-ship that was once the power source to High Charity is gone. So is High Charity dead in space? Even if it has some power left i don't think it would be enough. In the novels both human and covenant ships need alot of power to charge their slipspace engeins. Also i gessing High Charity took on a bit of damage from the civil war and then the Flood invasion.

So i don't see many (logical) if any ways the Gravemind and his Flood can get to Earth.
Your thoughts?

"heh"

There are many Covenant ships around High Charity, I guess they could capture one, repair it, and take it to Earth. Or more than one.

honestly the flood arestranded on high charity, BUT, whenh the prophet of truth takes off in the phantom and the other 2 as well, there is one more, BEHIND master chief, so the flood couldm take that and escape to earth, even though it would take a long time, the flood are exremely determined to do anything, and they have plenty of dead bodies (food) to take, so ultimately i think that the flood will make it to earth, but i still hate them.

The flood don't exactly seem like the 'Mr. Goodwrench' type when it comes to repairing damaged ships.

Well, yeah I forgot about that. They could take the Phantoms, fly it to a cruiser and use that.

The flood CAN learn, and they learn incredibly fast. The flood know everything thier host body knows. So if a flood, or many flood, took over... say... Engineers, they would be able to fix that problem in no time. Besides, there are plenty of ships inside High Charity and around it with good reactors, so why not just grab those to power High Charity?

I'm not to sure how they will get to Earth. But make no doubt about it there will be flood on Earth. I mean heck one of the biggest challenges in either of the Halo's was defeating the Flood. Besides it will make for one hell of a "Last Stand" on all four sides,I.E. The Humans, The Covenant, The Brutes, and The Flood. That wouls make out to be one hell of a war in my oppinion.

That's a very good thought.

I think they're aboard the Forerunner ship because, playing throughout High Charity you see I believe it was only Pelicans flying towards the Forerunner ship and that's how they got to High Charity, through In Amber Clad so the Pelicans are carrying The Flood.

I guess flood could have gotten on the forerunner ship. But what about the Gravemind himself. He is still stuck there.

WHOA! I just thought of something. Cortana obviously still had power to be running on when she talked to the gravemind. so ther has got to be some left. Maybe she could fix the power problem or at least tell the flood how to fix it. That is, assuming she wants the flood to get to earth?

this appears to be a "that's the end of that" kind of statement so there's nothing to add really.

but i will say this:
in any cutscene after gm is in high charity, we do not see the whole of high charity. it is theorised (is that a word) that gm is stretched across space with his main body still under the library. we do not see any of his main body in high charity, so we don't know if he is completely there

I thoguht cortana said that the gravemind always wanted to get to anamber cladd (or wht ever it is called) so he could get to High charity, while the cheif was some sort of a destraction.

On another note how the hell did anamber cladd jump so accuratley, and through the walls of high charity to get inside it?

Quick as a razor, sharp as a bullet.

firstly, i do remember that bit but don't remember why it happened...

secondly, the flood woulfd have knowledge of slipsace to do it by assimilating humans

That's ture. But what i meant is human ships aren't ment to be able to jump that accuratly. And not even covie ones can jump through soild objects.

BUT, i think i may have found the answer to my own question. I remeber reading a theory on how Regret must have a piece of the crystal thing from the First Strike. The theory made alot of senes, i couldn't see any flaws in it.
Assuming that theory is correct, then the crazy jump would make alot of sense. Why because after absorbing Regret it is likely the gravemind came in postion of the crystal fragment too. Like the rest of the flood, the gravemind proberly learnt about the cyrstal abd what it does (ie bend time and space). That would explain how the gravemind and the flood new who to make a smeeingly impossible jump work.

Maybe this fragment of the crystal on reach will be the key in allowing high charity to jump to earth? Who would have thought this crystal could potentially have such a big impact on the game!?
