This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends;
Not with a bang but a whimper.
Here is a link to the thread in question.
I realize it is most unusual for one member to object to the abject banning of another, but I am most curious as to which moderator banned this user and for what reason. If, perchance, the moderator in question happens to see this thread and sees fit not to ban me as well for my impudence, could s/he please explain what led to the banning of a user who was merely a well-wisher of the harbingers of freedom?
While my opinion is, ultimately, of little consequence, it does seem to me as though many threads of far more questionable and malicious a nature are allowed to thrive or, at the worst, referred to another forum for reposting. If the moderator is feeling especially generous, s/he will move the thread for the OP. Yet in this case, as can be seen by all, no warning was issued nor was an explanation given for such punishment.
It is not as though this thread was written about some lewd and indecent behavior nor was there any link to a shock site nor, indeed, was there any action ill-befitting an upstanding and proud patriot. Where, I ask you, is the harm in allowing the Community to appreciate the freedoms earned by the blood of soldiers, both past and present? I tell you the truth: there is none.
I see now that I have rambled far too long on this one subject, although it seems an injustice, if things be as they appear. Of course, this user could have been banned for some other offense, and if that is the case, I would love to be set right. If I am banned, I only regret that I have but one account to give for my country.
(Despite my feigned eloquence, I really am concerned at this and would love an explanation. Also, I would love not to be banned for asking about this issue. I would have PMed a mod if one had been mentioned in the thread)
TL;DR: Why was TopWargamer banned for innocently wishing all a Happy 4th of July?
