Mine is the hunters on legendary with almost all skulls on. I swear they are near invisible.

Which enemy do you hate?

I don't hate any of the Covie species.

As for Flood, I hate rocket Flood.

They are made with only the player in mind (Reach Jackals are also made with this mindset whereas CE Jackals do rolls to give marines who don't know where to shoot a chance to stand up to them), meaning my b**** is going to get pwned because of his flaw (berserking at new targets) unless I distract the Flood. Rocket Flood are also too good at killing Covies. It makes some parts a breeze and deprives me of a glorious battle or setup.

But in CEA, there is one Covie I hate. Stealth Elites.

CEA made them very difficult to see (even if you shoot one, they won't become visible) but gave them a flaw (plasma weapon is always visible). I was expecting CEA to fix the visible sword (and it didn't) but I wasn't expecting CEA to make Stealth Elites like this.

Good point, I totally forgot about Stealth Elites. I beat halo CEA the other day and I was so frustrated. I guess every enemy on Legendary is a pain in butt.

@path1k Use a grenade to dislodge it or push it with a Banshee

@op In the old or new graphics? In the older graphics, the Stealth Elites are pretty easy.

is the ghost the only vehicle that can through? is it easy to get it through or do you have to spend a while until you do it right (like reuniting 4 hunters on The Great Journey)

Either,
1)fuel rod Grunts,
2)Sword Elites (they can run faster then you which is annoying) 3)Rocket/Shotgun floods
4)Grenades lol

  • 07.06.2012 10:47 AM PDT

Yes, I AM just that awesome.

1.) Rocket Flood (both games)
2.) Stealth Elites (CEA)
3.) Boom, I prefer my grenades don't have a blast radius the size of Hiroshima
4.) Bandana skull (playing with it spoils me)

If a fuel rod Grunt kills you you're doing it wrong.

c'mon man, if they ran the same speed as you or slower it will take out the challenge in engaging them

You haven't met Reach sword Elites have you?

CE sword Elites are easy to lose if you go behind cover during a pursuit and any weapon can deal with them. It's possible to kill them with only beat down! And it was possible to assassinate them. And in some versions of CE, if you keep running forward without looking back, it's possible to avoid every swing.

Reach sword Elites are so much faster and there's virtually no way to exploit their swing. Often they have uber shields (much more stronger than CE Zealot shielding). And if you get boarded and kicked out, it's a one hit kill (at least with the 7 Generals from the Tribute Room easter egg) and there's no way to prevent it unless you flip (H2 was the only time where you could get out of the vehicle when you were being boarded).

It's merely because of their lack of distinct abilities (leap) and noob combo that they're rarely perceived as a threat. Try fighting a sword Elite with only a grenade launcher, concussion rifle, or plasma launcher. You'll be screwed.

The truth is that the needle rifle and hologram are the only reliable, life saving, game default methods besides noob combo in Reach. It's just sad.

You can get creative on some levels:

-treadmill exercise on WC
-tricking sword Elite at the end of TotS into running off by jetpacking or getting him to board your Banshee which will cause the game to trigger the activation panel. You can also knock him off the ledge with the Banshee or bring up Jorge and get a stealth kill on him
-tricking sword Elites into running off the edge on Installation 04
-exploiting scripting on fleeing Zealot on TotS to get him in an infinite animation loop. You can also make him lose his AI. You could also block him in advance with his 4 Grunts and continuously get a Killtacular by reloading checkpoint.

I'm pretty proud of myself for getting a Killimanjaro without using a Target Locator or the Falcon's grenade launcher. On Legendary difficulty. Kill times are atrocious and Bloom is like typing with a rubber keyboard.

the goldies in Halo: Combat Evolved were clumsy as much as they were dangerous. you could manipulate them to slaughter their allies (even on vehicles), lure them to group of floods or sentinels as a distraction and like Sliding Ghost said trick them to falling to their deaths

It seems a lot of people haven't played Reach very thoroughly.

Reach is a lot more easier than CE. It's just filled with a lot more bs which makes Reach sword Elites more dangerous than CE Zealots.

Yes, yes I did. And I still think so.

Jackals for me. On legendary they will OC your shields constantly and I find them harder to take down than a typical elite. I save frags specially for them and always like to know where the nearest Plasma Pistol is when I run intt them.
There is a certain satisfactin with unloading a clip of needles at them, pinging their sheilds with the AR/M-6D and watching the needles riddle them when they roll away from you.

Why Bungie, why would you do this?! - Halo Community

Jackals in CE on legendary...for some reason, I find killing elite easier, all because at least when you slowly pepper there shields (or use the PP) there is some feeling like you are making progress. Jackals never seem to stumble for me.

Have to agree with Kamel and Dark Hunter there, home skillet. Those blamming jerks turn even a chaingun sequence into irritation and repetition. They're the Drones of CE.
