Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

I didn't read any of them in order.

But, to prepare for Halo 4, I think you should start by reading Cryptum and then Primordium. Then read Glasslands.

A real man

forerunner trillogy
contact harvest
Cole protocal
Ghosts of onxy
Fall of reach
The flood
First strike
The others Im not sure

Read the fall of reach first, then first strike because it follows on directly. The flood is the halo compat evolved campaign exactly. The graphic novels are apparantly great too

Also having read most of them, First strike is by far the best.

Re-read them again. It goes like this:

The Fall of Reach.
The Flood.
First Strike.

The Fall of Reach is, well, the fall of Reach. It tells the story of how John became a Spartan and how he and the crew of the Pillar of Autumn found Halo.

The Flood is a novel version of Halo: Combat Evolved with the blanks filled in. For example, more characters are introduced and it explains how the humans were able to stage operations on the Halo ring.

First Strike happens immediately after The Flood novel. It explains how the Master Chief gets back to earth and how he finds more of his Spartan brothers and sisters. It also explains how SGT Johnson was able to escape the clutches of the Flood.

All Hail Eris!!!

I read them all in chronological order, but since so much has been retconned you will probably have a better time reading them in order of release.

5 years and counting on Bungie. I feel old and worthless.

Your emblem made me lol.

I personally read the Fall of Reach, Flood, First Strike and Onyx first to get in the universe, but maybe you should read in order of when it took place

/slow clap for respect

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

I´d recomend reading the novels first then move to the comics as novels give more important information regarding the canon.
