Subject: Does anyone else notice a slight trend in member titles and maturity?

"A wizard is never late, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to."

Obviously people know the more developed the title of a member is, the longer they've stayed and the more community knowledge they have. It's quite interesting when I see a bright blue or grey title and immediately expect words of wisdom, and how grammar is of a higher standard. It's nice however when every once in a while a post pops up from a member with a title ranging from anywhere between "member" and "noble member" e.t.c and they use correct grammar, remain polite and have a valid point to share. It's just a shame when you have 'that guy' who says something immature, yet still relates to the topic so therefore isn't actually breaking any 'rules' as such (trolls?).

It's also quite interesting how each forum on here has a sort of "hostility" level, or a scale of danger; take the flood for example. Going in there today is like walking into a zombie apocalypse unarmed; you may or may not survive to start off with, but it's going to be an awful experience. Apologies, that was a bad metaphor, anyhow, I suppose maybe other people have noticed what I have?

I have to agree, I am an immature person.

I agree. Higher titles usually do correlate with more maturity and post quality. However, that isn't always the case. I've seen exceptions, both in regular members being very intellectual and high-level members acting with a large lack of maturity.

Anybody figure a way to change your title yet? I haven't hardly posted since 2007 so i could get this dang "Fabled" word outta here and get a "Veteran" or "Elder" status. because they sound cooler.

Stupidity, when sufficiently advanced, is indistinguishable from magic

I just feel like there are so many prominent outliers that it's hard to make that generalization.

Bad news, uh... I'm pretty sure fabled is your total post count, not PPD....

Correct, fabled is a very high post count so I don't think you'll lose that.

Well, technically Exalted supersedes Fabled, but yeah, once you have it you pretty much have it for life.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

once you get wise you'll realize the majority of any group here, be they titled, untitled, moderator, or otherwise, is actually really dumb. anyone claiming otherwise falls into this category.

also, the septagon is the worst board. down with the septagon and all who post within!

Some members who've been here longer are older because they were young when they joined, like me. I've changed so much since I joined you wouldn't think I'm the same person.

Others join old already.

As for maturity? I see no correlation. Mythics are more silly than you'd think.

Well I have a pretty good member title, and today I sent this to DeeJ:

"I AM IN SNIPING POSITION. EXIT BUNGIE WITH YOUR HANDS UP AND A COPY OF PARTICLE."

So I'd say yes, we are definitely more mature.

  • 07.05.2012 4:09 PM PDT

ayo foman, no chance of an elder status here?

I started off here quite young as well, but after a lot of posting and checking my own posts over, I saw how stupid they looked seeing them from a different perspective. So I decided to drop the SMS language and speak properly. Of course I still have the occasional mistake which I jump quickly at the chance to correct. I've also learnt not to respond to topics that I find devoid of intelligence.

As for the Mythics and maturity correlation... I see exactly what you mean.

You had a chance until your earlier post in this thread. This kind of disgusting, vulgar talk is exactly why you can never be an Elder.

Also, I have no idea.
