Subject: Doing your duty. Being a self mod.

@spawn031

"So much of what we do is ephemeral and quickly forgotten, even by ourselves, so it's gratifying to have something you have done linger in people's memories." John Williams

I report more than I post.

My reporting has gotten more lax since the darkness befell us as I think it should what with the activity on the down. It's why I imagine mods aren't locking as many vs, or what-if threads as before. Don't get me wrong, I'll still report the obvious spam attacks and troll threads as well as the occasional flaming.

I write hand written letters to Deej every time I see a violation.

To tell the truth I don't often report much. Only the posts that are really offensive or are a clear attempt to troll.

If things are bad enough, I usually just PM a mod.

I'm going to be honest, I'm more willing to report users that I dislike. But to balance that corruption, I have reported myself before when I broke the rules.

Come on over to Moving Up for your primary help and Q&A source.

"A wizard is never late, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to."

When you said 'self mod' I thought this was going to be making sure your own posts are appropriate. But yes, I report but very rarely. It's usually only if the user I report is doing something that impacts me directly, like posting something completely irrelevant and perhaps insulting or annoying in response to a thread of mine or a post I've made in another thread.

I do report the threads/posts that break the forum rules, but I don't go looking for them.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

I once in a while report people that deserve reporting.

In case there is a mod here waiting to ban someone who says no, yep...

You're kidding. You have to be. They ban people for breaking rules, not for not reporting.

  • 07.06.2012 10:23 AM PDT

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

I rarely report. I couldn't really care if certain people get warned or banned. Unless it was a serious violation which I find disturbing, I won't use the report button.

I don't report often. On that note, I don't go on the mains often either.

I report people but I sure as hell don't post it in the thread. People who do that are only breaking the rules more.

Now and then if I find something I'll report it if it's seriously bad. Other than that, I try not to meddle in things like personal arguments made public or young ones attempting to fit in.

I know the feels of both.
