Spartans, during augmentation, are injected with something that nearly removes their -blam!- and social desire.
It's a suppresant so they can control their impulses on duty, but it isn't removed. Maris did in fact have a familyIt's a side effect from augmentation. It didn't happen to all the Spartans.

No, that's impossible. Offspring, even from a spartan could never hope to inherit any of the muscle mass or the enhancements of the Spartans. That's like saying a body builders children will be buff. None of its genetic or "natural".
I was under the impression they did, I fully understand the problems with it but I thought Spartan 1's for example left some of the traits to there children... The Spartan 1.1s.
I might be entirely wrong on that however.
