At Opa-Ages it says you no longer have health; you have the shield, and when it's gone, you can only take about 2 hits and you die... They did make the change to get rid of the "fight, seek cover and wait for your shield to recharge, and fight again..."-tactic.
I'm not very happy about this, because this was my fav. tactic in SP (especially in Legendary). What do you think?

just because you don't see it doesn't mean it isn't there, bungie just desided to not make it veiwable yes sheilds will still recharge ect.

I hope this is just some joke, because that was almost like Halo's signature, you know the whole replenishing shields thing. I don't know why they would change it, it wasnt as though it was difficult to die in Halo, single player or multiplayer wise.

I'ld say it sucks because once the shields are gone all weapons are equal. so it doesn't matter what gun you have. still need two sniper rounds or two smg bullets. plus it takes the fun out of special game types where you have no shields. shotguns with no shields was my favorite way to play. now it will be all about who saw who first and not about how well aimed your shot is. I hope the reason for no health bar is just a technicality and that it finally makes it to the game when it's finished.

this is the stupidest thing that bugnie could do, i see absolutly no reason to do it. its the one thing that could completly -blam!- up the game. maybe have it as an ioption in MP, it if they do it Sp, that could make this a rent game.

why would they make it so shield don't recharge? that would be a step BACKWARDS in the Mark V --> Mark VI Mjolnir suit upgrade. as for the health thing, i didn't see the health bars below the shields. hm... that might just be a little techinical thing, or maybe they have a different way to represent the health level, like percents (full health is 100%, and almost dead is something like 10%, etc...)

They probably just had it that way (without health) at e3 to give the game a faster pace. Thay didnt impliment the new HUD, they just used the old one, so the new one will include a new everything including health and a shield. I can almost guarantee it.... ;-)

Let's hope so, because this was one of the things that made halo unlike other FPSs: It doesn't matter if you're hit, because if you seek cover your shield will recharge and it's not your health that goes from 100 % to 88 %....

Nobody knows, except Bungie and people who actually played it.

From what I have seen, it looks like it works, plus, Bungie ought to know what they are doing, right?

It could be like this: Shield (blue part) can deplete and regenerate, when it is depleted, the health bar itself starts to shrink with every hit, if you hide, the shield will only regenerate the part of the health bar left, which may be susbtantially smaller. It would be one of the first interactive shield/health bar.

Good idea?

there is health, if you watch the e3 demos, you notice by the sheild bar is a little blue circle the circle changes from blue to yellow to red. http://www.the-nextlevel.com/news/0405/Halo2_E3/Halo2_pointbl ank_kill.AVI that is my proof watch closely

Folks, folks, folks. The shield still recharges. *Gasp* Yeah. Imagine that. Stop flipping out. All they did was simplify the health system. That's it. Now calm the -blam!- down, honestly.

wouldnt the mjolnir armor be able to withstand more than a few shots after the shield is depleted?

I really hope you're right. Taking away the health bars would be a stupid horrible crap thing to do.

I think that Bungie just removed the health bar displays, the shield is still displayed, and the shield looks like it still recharges. You can still run away and let your shields recharge, you just don't know how much actual health you have,

Of course it would, according to the books, it can easily deflect most armor piercing bullets, in the game they made it weaker so that it would be harder / easier to kill. If the game followed the books, then no human weapon (except the sniper, rocket and grenade, oh and tank) would have any effect at all.

Man, I hope you are right. It sounds reasonable to take it off for E3 but for the final release they should definitely change it.

holy -blam!-. that is..... holy -blam!-. I hope it's a new gametype, and bungie was just testing it to see what we thought of it, and there will still be health with the sheilds.

I don't think that is true. You see it in the vids. Shield off- death!

Yea, by looking at the vids (from the multiplayer sessions, not from the 8 min. toturial), it really is shield off-death. In halo 1 50% of your energy was shield and 50% was health. 90%-10% doesn't look nice to me.,.,.,.,
