Together the community has arrived at a conclusion that the shapes here, are in fact, Geomancy.

I mean just look at these (taken from the wikipedia page), they're identical.

Only problem is, what the hell is Geomancy?! It doesn't seem to be a language or anything....discuss!

There isn't a thread regarding the weird diamond shape thingies so I made a new one. I didn't want to get this mixed up with all the One of Seven stuff.

I don't always ban people but when I do I laugh uncontrollably...that's if I was a Forum Ninja.

Truth is a matter of perception.

Each geomantic figure represents a certain state of the world or the mind, and can be interpreted in various ways based upon the query put forth and the method used to generate the figures.

For every step we take, we're pushed back two.

So how do we find out what "state of mind" the message Bungie gave us is?

@spawn031

"So much of what we do is ephemeral and quickly forgotten, even by ourselves, so it's gratifying to have something you have done linger in people's memories." John Williams

Catchy, any idea what it means?

Nice! I'm sure we can do this.

Obvious answer is obvious

Quick as a razor, sharp as a bullet.

Well, there's no way in hell I can read and understand all that, so I did a quick search for 'seven'. not sure if relevant:

In Renaissance magic, geomancy was classified as one of the seven "forbidden arts," along with necromancy, hydromancy, aeromancy, pyromancy, chiromancy (palmistry), and spatulamancy (scapulimancy).[1]

  • 07.07.2012 8:47 AM PDT

we need to learn how to interpret it

So, translated literally, it's "The Way, The Conjunction, Lost, The Lesser Fortune, Red, Joy, The Prison."

By comparing the symbols on Bnet to these translations, ^I get this.

I love Halo, I have played it since the beginning, even though I may not have had Xbox Live back then. Marathon is also a pretty good game. I have been here on Bungie.net longer but got a new account and I am looking forward to Bungie's next game. My old account got hacked.

Thank You Bungie! For the best games and Recon Armor. Also thanks for the early access to the Halo: Reach Beta!

So their next game will take place in the middle east?

Nice find.

From Wikipedia:

The structure of the figures themselves can be directly translated into binary numbers

We know what to do.

Well now I'm trying to look at meanings, corresponding planets, that stuff. The first three have paths involved, but all of them predict bad stuff.
