If im your science teacher, don't bug me.
So I am trying to do this "math" and its totally random.
based on <The next four figures, the filiae, or Daughters, are formed by rearranging the lines used in the Mothers: the first Daughter is formed by taking the first line from the first, second, third, and fourth Mothers in order and rearranging them to be the first Daughter's first, second, third, and fourth lines, respectively. The process is done similarly for the second Daughter using the second line from the Mothers, and so on. The Daughters are placed in the next four houses in order on the same row as the Mothers.>

I think that math is a wrong direction beyond working with the orginal seven bungie symbols.
I do however think it is interesting that bungie used a symbol from each planet. in order Moon, Mercury, Venus, Sun, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. Perhpas each faction is from a planet. Dead orbit= Moon, New Monarchy = Mars, Osiris=Saturn, Seven seraphs=mercury, FWC=Venus. The planet/faction relationship is speculation but I think there is something to it.
Also each planet has two oppostie symbols in geomantics. perhps in the game. reguardless of which faction a player chooses may have the option of fighting for good or evil. Man that would be sweet.
The only symbols that are not planet related are

dragon tail

Dragon Head

Both of which correspond to moon nodes. I can't help but think that this is related to the two point located on the destiny map

perhaps these correspond to base camps for good and evil.
who knows thats just pure speculation.
