Hey Bugie!

We all love the carnage reports during matchmaking! However, we really miss them during the campaign in H2. Could we have them for H3?!?

Who else would enjoy seeing this????

What good does a carnage report for campaign do?

It does as much good as a carnage report during matchmaking. See your number of kills, your hit percentage, etc. Then, if desired compare to your previous bests or compare to a co-player. Come to think of it, this may already be in the work for that Achievement business on 360. (I don't as of yet own one, so not sure how that works)

OK, yes, it is very true that I'm a dumb ass. I'm not denying that. However, isn't the whole point of a beta to increase the amount of users until you get someone dumb enough to try something you haven't anticipated.

might be good for campaign

Would be cool, but would distract things from the normal flow of the game. Because a cutscene, or something of importance, usually signals the next level. If all of a sudden, you see stats, it would take away from the overall feeling of the campaign.

I was thinking that too, but maybe the ability to togle it on and off in the options menu? I think it would be pretty cool for later play-throughs, but I just want to play the game and see the story my first time through.

^^ Yepp. The game is supposed to be similar to a movie experience. You're suposed to be engulfed in it, but if stats pop up after each mission, it'll tear you away from the movie experience, and just make it another gaming experience.

Plus, what's the point of finding out how many enemies you killed in campaign? There's a maximum amount of enemies in each level, not an infinite amount. Therefore, eventually you'd just keep reaching that maximum, which would take away from the challenge that statistics instigate.

How about in the campign menu it has the option to "view stats" on what ever level you were looking at and everytime you get a better hit% for that level it updates it keeping only the best scores.?

it would be interesting, but not as something that pops up in game. maybe a separate section on the title screen where you can view your stats for each level. ...although I would rather have a hit percentage, or number of deaths or something rather than kills.
oh and yourpimp, sometimes there are infinite amounts...like regret's room. or those damned sentinal factories. also, max kills isn't always the goal. maybe accuracy, or stealth is someones main goal.

People have made some great points!

1) Yes, the immersion/ movie experience is great. So, the suggesstion to turn on access to stats in the options menu is an excellent solution.

2) Of course there should be plenty of stats, not just kills and hit percentage! Obviously, there would be similar stats to matchmaking (i.e. deaths, head-shots, avg. life, etc.). Bungie perhaps would need to tweak a few to maximize their relevancy to campaign.

3) In sum, stats ROCK! So, have them as an option (to prevent any hinderance on game immersion), and almost everyone will enjoy them when they replay the game, again, and again, and again.

4) Also, it will be fun to compare yourself to others during co-op!

I think a carnage report would be bad for the game because it would take you out of the experience.

why see how you did it

make stuff like caracters unlockable, like when you have played the first level on legendary you unlock a grunt for multy
and so on

that is better than a carnage report

but for coop campain YES PLEASE than it will be fun :)

That's a great idea! I think you should start a new thread because that will be lost in this one.

And for your second points, heck yeah stats will be fun for co-op!
