At least you stay consistent with posting the exact same thing in every thread that has anything to do with the filter.

I feel as if that the filter exists for a very specific reason; to fulfill perfunctory, meaningless, ill-reasoned bureaucratic process, thereby exuding the illusion of order over chaos.

I just saw a green monkey nut shot a small tan lizard(?) in a gunny sack.

Yes.

I was tired, and I remember I posted something very well-worded on the same subject, so I looked through my post history and copy/pasted.

Thanks for remembering, it's so cute for you to do that.

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

My take on matters such as this? I try to keep it as simple as possible.

For me, this is simply a matter of courtesy and manners. If I am visiting, I respect and honor the rules, guidelines and requests of my hosts. If they ask that I act a particular way, follow their rules, or restrict my behavior... I either comply or end my visit.

Based on that personal philosophy, if a member feels restricted, confined or that their style is cramped by the conditions of our hosts, they can have their membership dues refunded and consider themselves welcome and free to visit any other site on the world wide interwebs.

Or, they can create their own location, invite others and feel free to set any (or no) rules of their own.

I understand that we're a community of our own, but we are still guests on this site. We're welcomed guests, we're beloved guests, we're friends and family, but no matter how you cut it, it's not "our house".

I personally believe it should be allowed. However, I don't expect those who have authority here to agree with me. It should at least be allowed in groups, if nothing else.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

If people can't guess your word out of context, then they're too young to be viewing profanity.

Keep it civil.

Edit: I do agree that it should be allowed in private groups. They need more individualization to separate themselves from the mains.

I don't think you answered the question. All I read was "You should always follow the rules or GTFO", the question is whether the rules should be edited to allow profanity on the forums.

If you ask someone to watch their language when they are in your house (and around your friends and family)... would you expect them to challenge you and say that they have a right to speak however the hell they want?

Would I expect my guests to bicker about my rules when they aren't around me? Sure. Do I expect them to rebel? Not really, because they know I'll just remove them from the vicinity of my household for doing do.

I agree, groups should have the option to disable the profanity filter, especially since the filter itself can limit conversation of certain; otherwise appropriate, topics.

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

Fact: If you are 13 years or older, you are allowed on Bungie.net. Even though they could potentially be old or mature enough to handle profanity, it is still not good to have it.

Keep Bungie classy.

Are you claiming that that whole statement is fact, or only the first sentence?

I think they should at least let us opt-out of the filter.

This.....That way I have my way and other people have it their way, its a win win. Except maybe if that was an option we would see a lot more blams then usual so that could be anoying.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

In groups, at least a toggle switch.
On the forums however, no.

Swag punks, fuck off!

I don't think we should allow profanity at all on Bungie.net, the trolls would be taking too much advantage.

It's not that I'm crazy... It's just that, you're not as far out there as I am.

No, I personally feel that it is unnecessary.

And like you said, "we are all adults." and adults should talk like adults, not like pissed off teenagers.

TL;DR: get over it, grow up.

And who cares what 11 year olds post on FB ant twitter?
