It's Bungie Day.

Yes. It's Bungie Day, yet I see a great quantity of users grieving about this&that - what Bungie didn't deliver this year.

But honestly... What's the point? Can't you just be happy?

Bungie Day is a day to come together and celebrate. Celebrate Bungie's success. It's not about us getting items, or them delivering special information or what not, it's about us being a community, and if you think otherwise, then you aren't part of this community.

Bungie didn't make any promises to deliver anything. Hell, they didn't even promise to celebrate Bungie Day(well maybe)- but they still did.

My point is Bungie Day isn't about us. They didn't have to add new swag to the store, they didn't have to design/release new avatars, they didn't have to do anything. But they did, and for that we should be thankful.

Yes Bungie wasn't as active this year, but we still have plenty to do, and the community has worked together to create and put on many activities for today's celebration. Bungie Day has been lots of fun, and it's still not over.

Be grateful,

Please, be grateful...

Thank you Bungie for a wonderful Bungie Day. It is much appreciated, and I am looking forward to the last remaining hours of it!

I think Bungie Day is about us learning more about Destiny.

This year, it was.

I will own everyone in Halo: Reach

They could've done something else too, but well. This one was cool, the point is to celebrate Bungie :D

Your entitled to your own opinion, and there's nothing wrong with that.

But... I am asking, are you thankful Bungie did what they did for us today?

  • 07.07.2012 7:53 PM PDT

Actually I liked this year's bungie day. At least bungie actually talked to us today! Plus we're one step closer onto knowing what their next game is!

I am. But they did tell us a little more info relative to Destiny. So what I believe this Bungie Day is about is what this Bungie Day is about... and yet it does not fit your description of someone who belongs to this community in the OP.

I ask you again, am I a part of this community?

Would you rather have had them not do anything at all and just say oh cool story bro its Bungie Day! Or would you rather have had them do this and also I think we are going to see more than we imagined!

Destiny Awaits ◑·

See you Starside

I love bungie. You know Bungie doesn't have to do squat for us and yet they do. Every year, and every day. They work hard. Yes I had fun today. Not only that but it looks like everyone else did to. Infact look at how the community was reacting with each other! Wow! Multiple community carnage games hosted. The cool thing about the games is that it brought us closer as a community. We had fun! We got to play with people that we see post in the forums everyday but never really get to know. Thats whats great about Bungie day. Not the special items its the community. Without the community there would be no Seventh Column. Without the community, there would be no Bungie.

Happy Bungie Day everyone! Enjoy it while you can!

I don't appreciate you trolling. You get the message, you got my point.

It's not about us getting items, or them delivering special information or what not, it's about us being a community, and if you think otherwise, then you aren't part of this community.

Bungie Day is about the community coming together, and celebrating the reason why we're all here- Bungie. In simpler terms: Bungie Day is about celebrating Bungie, and we should be thankful for Bungie celebrating Bungie day, whether they give us something or not.

Get the point?

Thanks!

Stupidity, when sufficiently advanced, is indistinguishable from magic

I don't think he's so much trolling as calling you out on saying that people who disagree with you aren't part of the community. It's like when pundits call people "un-American". It doesn't even make any sense, let alone have any validity.

These happen every year.

As do these kinds of responses.

These kinds of responses also get posted, and are, IMO, the worst of the lot. You have no right to tell someone they are not part of the community, even if they are critical of what Bungie does or does not do.

I love Bungie, always have and always will, they're easily the best game developer in games but what makes them exceptional in my mind is their level of involvement with their community. And I had a blast today, it was good to see a big jump in activity on the forums and the return of crazy speculation and conspiracy theories. But I'm a realist and I'm going to put it straight, this year, was worse than at least the last 5, and we all know it.

Before you knock me, yes we all knew that with Bungie dark we weren't going to see anything really but hey, I just sort of wish we had a more intricate puzzle instead of, "Yup... that's what geomancy looks like. It doesn't mean anything though."

And as others (Not necessarily in this thread) have pointed out, DeeJ did promise, "The party we have planned will be a chance for everyone to score some sweet gifts as a token of our appreciation for the passion that lives on our site every day."

Now I interpreted it today as the new swag in the store but I think it sounded too much like there'd be giveaways.

I had a good time, reading through conspiracies and playing old Halo but you have to admit, its not as good as past ones have been.

I for one enjoyed Bungie Day this year, so very much. But for others, they are not as grateful.

You can't please everyone.
