totally agree w/ ya there. it'd be wicked stupid to remove the helmet or no, remove the helmet, but have the camera follow it as John drops it you know at the end as a salute to his comrads, now reply to the dude you replied to: a book description is nutin compared toan actual pictah. that

maybe, if you beat legendary, they should show his face but it's Mister Chief or Frankie, you know, for laughs.

No, the Chief will never take off his helmet. It makes him a Universal Icon to players, allowing him to be whatever they want him to be. Black, white, tanned, etc etc.

Aghem,
As mentiond in the fall of reach John had white skin, brown eyes, brown/blackhair, and when he was younger he had frekels. (probably not anymore)
Suckers I spoiled it 4 ya.

Unfortunately the books are interpretation of the Bungie Universe, mixed in with the creative liberties of the authors. Meaning that whatever gets written in the book is not what is in the game. And what is in the game is what comes straight from Bungie.... And I'm pretty sure they want the Chief to stay universal throughout the Trilogy.

"Were it so easy?"

Still waiting for the day to see Ling Ling's head.

GT: Il Immortal Il those are iL s :D

As I stated in a previous post much like this, I think the following would be a pretty cool ending..

As MC stands triumphantly over a battlefield, surrounded by covenant corpses (or lying among them, mortally wounded and near death), someone tells him (Cortana maybe, or someone else..) "It's finally over, John." ; or something along those lines.

He would slowly reach up, and place his hands on his helmet. You can hear the depressurization occuring as he slowly lifts it from his head -- then the screen blacks and and displays the Halo 3 logo and credits, before you can glimpse his face.

Yum.

If that happened, there would be mass-suicides of Halo nerds.

just to let every1 know, hes going to be bald, and hes going to be pale...2 reasons

1- military code
2- hes been in a skintight suit where his actual skin doesnt see daylight for, especially since the games are like withing a couple moths span between eachother

just to let you know, bungiw worked very close with the authors making sure EVERYTHING was accurate, so know the authors interpretations of the spartans would be Bungies interpretations

master chief is albino (as are all spartans) according to the books. i think seeing him without the helmet would ruin his iconic image.

on a side note i saw an albino black kid in a 7/11 once. no -blam!- i swear.

The Spartan's are not albino, that doesn't even make sense. The Chief is pale because he's been in his suit for so long.

^ haha what an idiot

Eric Nylund, the author of 2/3 books says that the Master Chief is albino white. That doesn't necessarily mean he's albino, but he's as white as one.

I dont think he will. Atleast no until they know how the actor that are going to play Halo in the movies looks like.. ;)

  • 06.13.2006 10:27 PM PDT

No. Bungie has said that they do not want to show his face because they felt that they may alienate some fans. Also, the Spartan warriors (Roman) wore helmets that when the sun shown down on them it hid they're eyes, and they never spoke. Needless to say these warriors scared the hell out of their advaseries. I don't think that it's a coincidence that Bungie named them Spartans and they will probably stick with the whole faceless, fearless warrior gig.
