No. I don't want to pay for a site. That's the dumbest thing ever. This isn't even a game; it's not like I'd be paying for bonus content or something.
I don't think you read the topic.

Yes, I did, and I'm not getting a paid subscription to a website. It's a terrible idea.

GGGGGGggggggggggggGGGG

This is easily the worst idea I have ever heard.

You think he would?
It's spartain ken. Of course he would, he cares a lot about the community and is always thinking of new ways to improve it. I am actually kind of surprised that he hasn't voiced support for this idea, he partially inspired me to think of this idea.

I bet he wouldn't. This wouldn't improve the community. and besides, Bungie cares about the community too, not lining their pockets full of our cash for something that would hurt the community. They aren't EA

I think this would improve the quality of the forums because premium users will think about what they post before they post it because they are more worried about breaking the rules since they paid for their membership.

If it would be a paid subscription, no one would be left to post on them.

Bottom line is, you can't make people act decent or respectably.
Self moderation is and always should be exercised before you hit the [SUBMIT] button. Sadly, way too many don't care and intentionally come to the forums simply to get their nefarious jollies. I do not understand that mentality, and never will.

How about reading the rest of the topic? Is that too hard?

Condescend much?

I did read it. All the other parts had already been touch upon by others.
How about accepting the fact that this is not a sound idea?
It may sound ok on paper, but in practice it would not work.

Still 100% disagree. Such a stupid idea (no offence but it is).

  • 07.08.2012 2:13 PM PDT

Man of God. Fan of Bungie. Eater of many Jr. Bacon cheeseburgers.

They want to give us a place to gather. I do see what you mean about post quality but there're other ways to fix that problem other than getting people to pay. The same goes for the elitism. I see that there is a good purpose behind this but money just isn't the way.

No. Just no.

Bungie should be a free to use website with no premium memberships to make members elitists. We should only pay for in-game and on-website services, such as Bungie Pro.

See the rapist.
I don't like rap.

*facepalm*

Only the "kens" of online forum browsing would pay to use a forum.

Awful idea.

They call me the Sandwich King

"It's not a matter of who shoots who, it's the matter of who gets in the way of the bullets." - IRON WOLF 412

"The power of the mind can overcome any obstacle." - IRON WOLF 412

Trample the weak, Hurtle the dead.

I can respect the fact that you are trying to make the forums better, but this idea is not the way. Having a paid subscription to post more topics but still limited at 7 and having unpaid members limited to 2 would steer a lot of activity away from the forums. We would also see a great decrease in the amount of Topics we see which would then give us less of a variety to choose from.

A limit on how many replies you could have in a thread is also a bad idea because some in some threads (like on Bungie Day) are so active and people share and elaborate ideas so fast it is almost like instant messaging, So having a limit would greatly slow the sharing of ideas down within a thread.

Purchasing each topic after the initial 1 or 2 per day is better than your previous idea but still bad. It would not do much besides make those really active members that make a lot of the topics pay for their activity.

It is not the Bungie way. They love their community too much to let something like this ruin the community and level of activity we bring. If they were to do something like this then I would be greatly disappointed with them. Also this is why we have moderators to keep people in check and the community also does its part to improve itself so Bungie doesn't have to hold our hand and watch us while they try to make the games we want to play.

Read it again. You wouldn't need to pay to use the website.

I know. My point is I'm not paying for any part of this site. It needs to be 100% free, like every other forum in the universe.

Key

Buying topics? No. That's dumb. If I think of 3 good threads in one day, who are you to tell me I can't use them?

  • 07.08.2012 3:36 PM PDT

What I'm still not getting is how this could in any way add anything (positive) at all to the forums, to bungie.net and the community.

Edit: Sure, Bungie could make some money by doing this, but aren't their core business games?

Please OP, clarify?

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

Bungie doesn't need more money to siphon from us. I could see this as only a way to inhibit discussion, not influence it.

The current system is fine just the way it is, in my opinion.

Destiny Awaits ◑·

See you Starside

I'm done! I can't read anymore of this thread! OP this idea is stupid! If you think anyone would agree with this idea then you're stupid. The Community should not have to pay anything to BE a community, and if you think Bungie would even consider this idea they would loose their community pretty quick, then what would be the point of coming to work everyday? This idea would kill the community and then kill Bungie day. The idea sucks. Sorry OP i can't put it into nicer words. This is just stupid.

  • 07.08.2012 4:24 PM PDT

Make a poll, that will solve everything, just disregard the obvious alts problem. OP if people agree with you then you'll win the poll.
