I know this has been brought up before, but I don't think it got the attention it deserves.

I'll make a bold statement here and say that a majority of people here have played Legendary to the point where completing it isn't much of a challenge anymore.

I'd love to see a difficulty that is to Legendary, as Legendary is to Normal. Something you can brag to your friends about, or indeed attempt to complete it with them.

If it were up to me, I'd call the new difficulty "Lionheart", to keep in with the "Heroic" and "Legendary" trend, and rather than beef up the enemy's stats, introduce 50-100% more enemies that use tactics like trying to flank you, and simple "There's 8 of us, and 2 of you. We're gonna charge you and you're gonna lose" stratergies.

Anyone else think that Legendary isn't enough?

You should of made up your own instrument. You could have named it the PolarLighting -a-phone. People would buy it and they would all be like "Awh, He's so cool for inventing the PolarLighting-a-phone."

You don't need a new level, just make the AI smarter. Make everything tougher. Like they did for halo 2. Halo 1 Legendary is Halo 2 heroic.

True, but it was much harder on co-op as the enemies were tougher, but if your ally died, you died too.

I remember watching some random games review program, and they said that Legendary was put in the game as something that was diliberatly unbeatable. I guess Bungie underestimated just how good their players could get!

This's my point. I'd like to see a new, practically unbeatable difficulty level. While making Legendary harder would solve this, I know people who struggle on Normal, and making all difficulty levels harder may make the game less enjoyable to casual players.

I think they should make it 50% harder than Legendary, 40% more enemies...and more skilled too. And call it....."You're fu***ng screwed"

You don't need more enemies to make a mission harder, just make them smarter and give them a good position.
For example, the IWHBYD skull. Fighting that -blam!- load of elites really isn't fun.

i agree, just make them smarter and all

there is one thing i absolutly detest when playing legendary and thats that your sheilds suck and the weapons do more damage to you, if they are gonna make it harder they should simply make the AI smarter and have them fire faster
i still play legendary nonetheless

I dunno, once you get the idea of things, Legendary becomes pretty tame.

Actually, I believe legendary is cheap. Here's why. In normal, the enemy does a certain amount of damage as does your weapons to them. In legendary the only difference is that your enemies take more damage and their weapons do more damage. To put it simply, the only difference between any of the difficulties is the handicap that is placed on your player; with the exception of the co-op respawn in legendendary. A handicap is usable in multiplayer and it basically makes you more vulnerable to enemy weapons and yours do less damage.SO instead of the only difference being the handicap on your player during campaign, try making enemies, faster and smater than on easy. New tactics and weapons deployed to your enemies would make halo a much for fun, interesting, and deep game. That way, your player is not weaker and does les damage while your enemy does the same stupid antics as in easy as hide behind a box until you come out; giving your shields a chance to respawn. Anyone knows who's played lots of halo that elites are not very aggressive and killing them is ALMOST identical to the easy difficulty setting. I believe Halo 3 needs a much more dynamic difficulty system unique to teh series and other games out there. I also believe that making the enemies harder to kill is good along with the other things bungie has done with the difficulty, but that if it had varying A.I. or another aspect besides the handicap that the game would be better, and harder because of it.Phew

i don't know man, legendary for halo 2 was like a sick joke the first time around. and not everyone has all day everyday to play halo 3 in order to get good enough to take on a higher difficulty level. i took about a week to beat legendary because i can only play for about 2 hours a day. and after beating it once and learning the "sweet spots" and what not it isn't that hard. but making it harder might be pushing it for the general halo player.

Well it took me and my co-op partner about a month of playing the odd day, mebye once or twice a week for 3-6 hours straight.

Nobody is forcing anyone to play on a certain difficulty, I'd just like to see a level that was designed for those of us who feel that Legendary offers too little of a challenge, and get bored of the game when our challenges arn't met.

Ive heard that there is a skull or something that unlocks a difficulty called "Mythic". Its not a confirmed fact but it sounds like a pretty legit name for a new difficulty.
