Subject: What if the Geomantic Symbols were the Seven Seraphs?

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

. . . I think you're on to something.

A seraph is celestial being having three pairs of wings, which explains those 3 blocks (or wings) coming out of the Seven Seraph symbol (look at my avatar for reference).

But another definition of seraph is an angel of the highest ranks. And where do angels live? In Heaven or the Heavens! And another word for Space is The Heavens, which is where Mercury, Venus, Earth, The Moon, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn are located. Also, those names relate to Roman Gods (In equivalent order: Mercury, Venus, Ceres, Luna, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn). Those Gods can translate into abilities or powers, which once again, in equivalent order are: The Messenger, Love, Earth (Agriculture), Brightness, War, Sky/Thunder (King of the Gods), and Time. The Gods Neptune (Ocean) and Pluto (Death) are left out, but could potentially be swapped out for others.

In theory, the Seven Seraphs could be Gods of some kind.

Maybe it's a play on words, and they're actually Serifs.
Or even sans serif!

I really do believe you might be on to something here. But i could have sworn i saw Osiris shirts the first day. I could be mistaken but i really do like where your theory heads. Nice work you just game me a new perspective on the possible story of Destiny.

Let's not derail this now, back to the task at hand: Realizing my theory is pure gold.

I completely agree with you as I came up with the same exact theory in a party with Mushroom Man on Bungie Day.

I was thinking about posting this on the night of Bungie Day but I didn't want it to get washed away in the sea of threads so I waited until the next day. Great minds think alike.

What if the Seven Seraphs is like a religious cult that worships these 7 godlike beings?

Bungie doesn't allow religious discussion in their forums so I don't ever see them explicitly using religion in their storyline.

Imagine it though. The religion in the game wouldn't be any religion that exists in our world. It would be something false that fits into the Destiny storyline. Are we assuming Destiny takes place in the future? Or in a completely alternative universe?

The Seven Seraphs could be something like worshiping Talos in Skyrim.

Really, do you by any chance remember The Great Journey?

We should know better, because we are better.

Perhaps the symbols represent what the Seraphs stand for.

Perhaps the symbols represent what the Seraphs stand for.

By learning the symbols could represent different celestial bodies sometimes gods in some religions it makes sense that the symbols each represent a seraph or a being of a higher power.

In Halo, Bungie fleshed out a full fledged set of religious beliefs for the covenant, so why would it be different in their new game. The Great Journey was part of that religion.

This game seems to be taking place in our solar system, with our planets and whatnot so it would be more connectable to us if they used religion. But, I do see where you're coming from. I just want Destiny already!!!

Bloom isn't whats broken, its your idea of what good is and your opinion
Thats like saying uber nerf armor lock because like 20 percent of the community hates it. Oh wait..................

I would like to point out this feels very battlestar galactica with the possibility of a world for each religion, multipul gods and such.

by no means any correlation, simply observation.

The angels associated with the symbols are also associated with the same planets, sun, and moon everybody has already mentioned. They are also associated with the governance or protection of large groups of people, nations, or dare I say it... factions. If the "One of Seven" winners are indeed the Seven Seraphs, they could very well be the literal or metaphorical heads of seven Earth-colonies (First-World Colonies?).

The archangels are also often messengers of their god. We know that the "One of Seven" have, or will have, some more information to share with us from Bungie. It's the same messenger role.
