UPDATE: It was pointed out that these were made in 2011, long before Coolie was hired at Bungie. This effectively destroys my argument. This can also be locked now, as I don't see it providing any discussion purposes. :)
Okay, this might seriously be a case of "I'm looking WAY too deep", but just hear me out.

I just finished reading the latest Breaking In, featuring Coolie Calihan. It was a good interview and I enjoyed it. Coolie is taking the position of Environmental Artist.

I did a bit of research and found his website. There are some really awesome pictures in there. So I started looking around...

I found two pictures that interested me. First is a picture titled Sanctum Machinus. Here's a link to just the picture. If you zoom in on the center hallway you can see the black-outs of some brutes and grunts. Interesting. But the symbol on the wall caught my eye. Here.

It shows up in some of his other pictures as well so I was thinking it could plausibly be the emblem of a new faction for Destiny. After all, so far we've only seen 5 factions and we all now that Bungie is obsessed with the number 7. I believe that there will be 7 factions, and 2 of them are just being kept secret from us.

Here is a direct quote from the Sanctum Machinus page:

Sanctum Machinus is a futuristic temple built for an alien race to honor their machine spirit the collective operation of all machinery and technology.
Now, this COULD be talking about the Covenant, but it could also be referring to Dead Orbit/or the possible new faction.

A final word on Sanctum Machinus: It is Latin. And when translated to English, it reads "The Engines". I don't know if this means anything.

Here is the link to the next picture. Link to just the picture.

Some people are talking about how Dead Orbit is a space-pirate type of faction, and I just thought this could be one of their raiding ships. Quote from the page:

This concept is for a spaceship which functions as a mobile military installation. Its purpose is to travel to possibly hostile planets and establish a forward recon/light assault armory while also replenishing the on board bio fuel reserves.
It sort of fits in with the entire Destiny theme, in my opinion.

Okay, I'm done.

So what do you think about all this? Possible Destiny hints or me just looking too far? It's totally fine if you're honest.

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

IMHO (obviously), there's no way a Bungie artist would be putting secret concept art from Bungie's next title on his or her website. Just can't see it happening.

The fact that a bunch of these are dated June and July 2011, before he started working at Bungie, should be enough to put this speculation to bed, I think. It looks like it's just portfolio work to showcase his impressive talents :-)

Also, it's a "faction," not "fraction" ;-)

Key

Yes, because they would let him publish something related to Destiny on his personal website.

Ask yourself this: If Destiny has Factions, what does Bungie have to gain from keeping two of them a secret from us given that we aren't really even supposed to know that there are Factions yet?

They get to reveal them, and before they do that, they get to see us speculating about them? :P

I have to agree Hoobs. Bungie would never allow an employee to put artwork of a future game on a personal website.

Also, it has grunts and brutes in the picture which guarantees it is not Destiny.

As always and in all seriousness, I appreciate your tenacity and dedication.
