I have played all of the games and most if not all of the campaign levels repeat themselves all of the time. Like The Library, The Maw, Keyes, and Truth and Reconsiliation. It just gets annoying and makes you want to bash your x-box on the wall. So why do they do that to us? It isn't fun, and doesn't make it fun.

It actually is, I think so. Its te whole "15 seconds of golden playability" creed. The found those 15 seconds and used them over and over. In halo 2 it was exactly the same, they just integrated it better.

I've played through the campaign many times and it's never really felt all that repetitive to me. Things never seem to play out the same way. If I come to a similiar area I just play it differently.

which part in which levels?

the library is supposed to be maze-like, so yeah, its real repetitive. i find many similar rooms in AOTCR, but even they have different enemies and layouts from room to room. plus hte enemy layouts change each time you approach a room, so it cant possibly THAT repetitive...

i agree that repeating an entire level in reverse is repetitive. althought i like 2betrayals and keyes, the level design was already used and i would have preferred a more unique layout.

dude, it doesnt repeat, at all.the story line has a reason for each level. the library levels floors are all the same. DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please explain to me what the definition of repeat is?
I know the short version. Basically its when something is the same as another something.

Just as a note, just because the storyline has a reason for it doesn't mean it doesn't repeat. That sadi...the repeating wasn't a bad thing, because the put slightly different scenarios on the same maps that were fun to drive through.

Sure, Halo can be repetitive. But only if you let it.. At least that's what I think anyway. I mean every FPS will be the same in that X-number of enemies will be at this room, and trigger-Y will be activated, etc etc.

The library is the only repetative level IMO...Everything else was changed enough to make it feel fresh.

Wanna Mix up H2's campeign? try playing on Heroic with the Angry, Catch, Unknown, and Ghost skulls active simultaniously...Its what legendary should have been in the first place.

Challenging?...not after you die 5 times in the same area. After that its almost memorized as to where those snipers are and it becomes a matter of just sniping them as they spawn. Now anytime I play a legendary level I just remember where the spawn points of those jackles are. Sure, your right, that is challenging, but in most people's opinions this certainly is a boring type of challenging.

The enemys don't get smarter...just more accurate...and stronger.
Halo had it so that they got smarter and aggresive at the right times. Plus they were tweaked to be more stronger and accurate...but not in the sense that if you poked your head out that you would instantly die.

Unfortunatly this would be a Halo vs Halo 2 argument that has nothing to do with this thread...but if you create a thread thats not against the rules I'm sure you can reanimate the topic. I'll be sure to post in it. =)

Halo 1 and 2 are not even comparable at their respective Legendary settings. Halo 1 is difficult once or twice through back when you first start playin, but it never even comes remotely close the the challange that Halo 2 gives you on Leg., even to the veteran players.

What I posted about the skulls is something I discovered (well at least posted here on the bungie forums) that creates a uniqe experience in the Halo 2 campaign. I have not tested it out on every Mission but I'm going to soon. It creates a remarkably good A.I. and you never get the frustrating feeling that you do on legendary...I'm specifically referring to how you have to unload a Full BR clip into a blue elite to kill one when they can kill you in about 6 bolts from a Plasma Rifle, and single shot kills from a jackal sniper. Try it out sometime. You wont be dissapointed.

And to Spage,

Try this out, im serious. Get the Angry, Catch, Unknown, and Ghost skulls active simultaniously and go play Heroic...Its perfect. No more memorization, no more one shot kills from a sniper, and most of all you dont have to unload a full clip into something to kill it, or die in 6 plasma rifle bolts from an elite. It would probably be best if you put each skull on a checkpoint to make make it more redily accessable. I made a post on New Mombasa about it and I'll see if i can dig it up for you. Its honestly the best Single Player Experience I've had on H2.

Yeah you were right...it definatly made the playing alot better....though I always put on Grunts B-Day because thats so much fun.

Though its better to play, I still like Halo's a little bit better...mostly becasue it addicted me for 4 months straight and had the Ar.

No problem guys. I was hoping that my thread would get some attention over on New Mombasa but as you can see...Not enough people posted on it. Also, I too think that Halo 1 has a better campaign, the levels are just designed better and have more longetivity to them. The only levels I really enjoy on H2 are the first 5 Master Chief missions because I like the whole outdoors experience, not a corridor crawl.....I'm not exactly a fan of the arbiter either. I just had all four of my wisdom teeth pulled so After a couple days I'm going to go through all of H:Ce on legendary, then do Halo 2 with the skulls active on heroic. Then I'll go back to XBL.

Grunt B-day is fun too, but it has set off chain reactions with me INSIDE the blast radius (and there are ALLOT of Plasma Grenades on the floor with Catch on), barbaqued spartan anyone?

Wait, it addicted YOU for 4 months? It had me going from release time to Halo 2's release!...I say this pretty often on this forum, but I stopped counting how many times I've gone through Halo :CE on Legendary at around 40-42.
