Many Halo 2 players would love to central severs in order to eliminate cheating and lag.
This would cost money and realistically Bungie would need to charge users to play on these proposed servers.

For Halo 3 multiplayer: How about putting advertising in the little "Did you know:" text box that you see while you’re waiting for matchmaking to find your party a game? I'm sure companies would be chomping at the bit to advertise in that space and, provided the ads were relevant, players would not mind seeing the ads in this context.
It's a far cry from players having to put up with billboards for "The DaVinci Code - Now on DVD" in the middle of the map. This kind of advertising scares me, but I could live with small, relevant and unobtrusive ads that appear between games.

What do you think about this?

I know I'm not the only person to think of this.

Also: Didn't MS recently acquire a company that specialises in in-game advertising? They may already be considering it.

LOL?! No advertising in the middle of a game, specially Halo3! That'll ruin a part of the gameplay...

Verbose, as usual.

If the ads were subtle, like down in that 'did you know' box and didn't play any sounds, I'd absolutely be for that. After hours and hours of playing, I know that the adds for Del Taco would eventually get to me. DOOO IT. Very good idea.

Advertising should stay the hell away from games.. its disgraceful. Where can one go when they want some peace of mind away from the world of commerce? Honestly, the big companies will eb geneticly engineering trees so that thier leaves are in the shape of "CompanyX, the best weed killer this side of the moon"

pah more rules are needed to regulate advertising.

Oh yeah, I can hardly wait!

This Optimatch brought to you by Tampax, you can do anything you want: ride warthogs, go for a jog, shoot battle rifles, get killed.

Um no.

Don't follow in my footsteps; I walk into walls
my 360s blog

The storyline and levels will most likely not allow for in-game ads would you expect to find a functioning coke machine in new mombasa
