I ponder the query if Bungie ever actually intended the storyline to be this deep. When they were making Halo CE did they plan for the Prophets, Brutes to join (be introduced) the Covenant? Did they plan for the Covenant to split into two?

Because it seems as though that Bungie thought of all this stuff they could have added after Halo CE. Or perhaps they might of mentioned something about the Prophets in Halo CE.

Did they plan for the possibility of the Ark and it being on Earth...possibly? It boggles my mind if they went into all the detail 5 years ago which made the games Halo, Halo 2 and Halo 3. If they did plan it from the beginning, then bravo. They have my ultimate respects.

I am...whimsical today.

We know they didn't plan for Sgt Johnson to survive, thats why they had to put his story in the Graphic Novel.

I thought that the novels continued the story from the first game, and then Bungie used these novels as a starting point for the next game plot.. at least it seems sensible to work like that.

His story isn't in the graphic novel its in the book, "First Strike." They had the Halo story figured probably since Halo1 because, back when the cortana letters were going out (1999 I think) she says some of the exact thing that are said in the trailer.

I feel as though they did plan most of it at the beginning. I mean, you can't pull a story like this outta your arse anyday.

But as someone said that they didnt plan on a return for Johnson in Halo 2, who was going to be the one in the Scarab at the end? A random marine? I dont think so.

Bungie planed it to go like this:
Halo:CE (Cheif blows up the ring)....then
Halo 3 (Chief gets to earth for the events of Halo:CE)

Halo2 was a filler when Bungie realised that:
They only had 10 months to make the game.
The Xbox did not have enough power to release their full potenial.
Also Earth would have been rubbish running on an Xbox.
^ (the 2004 E3 demo was running on 2 Xboxs!)

I have to agree with this, In the Halo2 LE-DVD they state that by E3 2004 they only had the demo, no actually game yet. So that leaves 11 months for them to actually make Halo2.

Everybody Gets One

yea halo 2's story was overhauled when they realized they didnt have time to make the game they really wanted to make.

even tho halo 2 was a good game. it just doesnt belong in the halo universe.

halo 3 will be what halo 2 was supposed to be.
