I agree a map editor would be cool, but if they release one then people will -blam!- and moan about how they can't play them on Live. I think system link can be done, if the map file is transfered to the other Xbox(s), but alot of people will not understand the complications and problems that will arise if they are on Live. With that said, stay safe with no map editor.
They can transfer the map file over the internet as the is how it was done it Timesplitters and Farcry
I know they can do it, but the fact that it's on Live is the problem. Allowing people to send user created content over Microsoft's servers is basically an invitation for people to mod, even if they aren't causing a problem or harm. A decent check and balance system to check content is unreasonable also.
Well i don't really see the harm. In Timesplitters, you could create a map and then once you save it on live, people could just go and download it. Or you could start a game and then when people joined they would have to download the map if they wanted to play in your game. Same thing in Farcry. Now i see why you would be concerned with people modifying the content of the maps to cheat, but they would only be able to cheat within a custom game, so you could just leave if you didn't want to play.
