Note: The cruiser that the Flood-infected Keyes is on is NOT the Truth & Reconciliation; the two cruisers were downed in the same area, but this one's teleporter was located elsewhere. The T&R's teleporter was in an open space. Plus, Covenant cruiser interiors are all built the same. And if you've ever read the Flood, you'd know that Major Silva was going to take the T&R, which had Flood hidden within it, Marines can't handle Spec-Ops Covies, who were occupying the seemingly unnamed cruiser.

So, was this cruiser ever given a name? Cortana just seems to refer to it as a ship

The Cruiser that Keyes is on IS the Truth and Reconciliation. It's mentioned in Halo; The Flood. The ship may have moved in the time between Truth and Reconciliation and Keyes, which would explain the difference in terrain.

When you look closely at the location titles, the book confirms that Silva and his outfit took command of the T & R. And yet, they didn't find Keyes all bloated up. Peculiar.

Yup. The ground might've got burned out from the coolant maybe? I would imagine it's pretty damn hot.

I have a feeling that the 'ship' was the T&R, but the game makers changed it so the game could be more interesting. THe books are never the same as the game or the movies. So the 'ship' was T&R
