i know im going to get flamed for this but recently i have been playing coustom games with modder that have ther projictile swaps on and it seems to be more fun than just playing matchmaking so the question is should buinge let modders mod in coustom games this could potently keep most of the modding out of matchmaking were every one complains about it
its just an idea

no people will want to mod ranked no matter what just so they can increase their rank.

Ive been barking up this tree for months, it's not going anywhere lol. violates the Xbox Live terms of service, which you agree to when making an Xbox Live account, and is therefore a bannable offense.

  • 06.14.2006 1:14 PM PDT

I don't think Bungie should even think about accomodating to modders. If they want to mod, they shouldn't log on Live. It's part of the user agreement when you sign up for Live.

evan if it si a banable offense moders will still use 2 and 3 month free trial cards to get ther ligit counts to higer levals so the only way to stop it is to give them some place to mod with out getting banned from matchmaking and this might reduce the modding community in matchmaking
also if your if you look at my othre threed on a map edtior. the rank would becomne less important if a map edtior was included becides i dont see why your rank is such a huge deal

Or you could make ranks invisible.

i was in a modded match before in custom games, it changed my life forever :)
i think they should be able to mod in custom games, can they without being banned?
can i be banned just for saying i was in a modded custom game?

...I'm pretty certain that these forums have a "no discussion of modding" rule, and that this thread will soon be locked.

if a rnak was made invisible what would be the point of having one

Well if you didn't know, the point of a rank in the first place is to match you with players who are you same skill level. Matchmaking is named accordingly. Some people play Halo because it's fun, not because they want a number next to their gamertags.

It'll happen... just like it did on Xbox. There's no stopping mods from being used (except for banning them).
Eventually, somebody will hack the 360. Let's just pray it doesn't wreck Halo 3 like it did for H2.

its a topic that needs to be discussed if they whant to ban or suspeend me they can im brining up the topic because there relly needs to be a sloution to the problem of moding in matchmade games and this is just one of the possiblitys since banning doset work.,

Frankly, it doesn't need to be discussed. Though I'm certain Bungie will attempt to fix the issue of modding, they're never going to cater to modders in any way, shape, or form.

then everyone will complain about not know were they stand in the world rankings so there is no sloution to the problem

i will say this now ther is no way to stop moding entirley there is no way you can cover every way in to the programing of a game some one will get in and make a mod and then teach other how it that simple
but do you cater to modders and give the ligit players a chance ?

Then you should be banned. People like you encourage the use of mods, even if you play with modders, you use them yourself, or you use them in matchmaking, ranked or unranked. Same goes for customs. If they were to have modding for "fun" in unranked games in Halo 3, cheaters WOULD find a way to merge them into ranked games, and it would get VERY boring.

I forget the exact thread, but I'm loosely quoting Achronos..." As long as you're not in our sandbox(meaning MM), it's not bannable." Again, i'm loosely quoting this. The thread if you want to look it up is the one in New Mombosa about Bungir responding to the BXR issue. It's in there somewhere.

Nevermind...that was for glitching only

discussion of modifying the xbox over live is forbiddon. especially on not on this forum, but this WEBSITE. you have pretty much given bungie a green light to ban your forum name AND your xbox live account.

i suggest you delete this thread and never speak of it again. and dont play with modders over xbox live, EVEN IN CUSTOM GAMES. you WiLL be banned. it has happend.

and i dont wanna see that happen to you. i recommend you start with this thread before a moderator sees this. im serious

although i dont like this idea because they will find a way to cheat in matchmade, i do feel sad that we cant...I remember befor matchmaking modders were glorified for their work. and then little kids that cant win got ahold of the modding tools and started cheating. these cheaters brought a bad name to modders everywhere. i hope to see less cheating and more cool mods in the halo community again soon...

  • 06.16.2006 5:48 PM PDT

the mods that are actually fun and not gimmicky couldnt be played over live because the game is too altered from its origional state to use w/o the mods on your own xbox

i just hope that custom games have huge amounts of variables

I suggest to those that have just admitted to modding and the like to turn around and walk away from this thread. Perhaps the moderators will then pity you.
