Subject: The Prophets Are Forrunners And They Know Exacly What The Rings Do.

3.) Only Truth knows the truth. Now i know that the prophets grew up on the homeworld of the 4runner. but this doesnt mean that they ARE the forerunner. why they grew up there, i cant say. but what i do know is that Truth is the ONLY one who knows wuts goin on. aside from his name, there is so much evidence. he seems to have ALL the power: " The council decided to have you hung by your entrails and your corpse paraded through the street. but ultimately the terms of your execution are up to ME." Would it not make sense that the guy with all the power have all the knowledge?
now somewhere along the line, Truth found out the humans were the descendants. not wanting to lose his status, he's headin to the ark to activate the halos, and thus when all life is purged, the prophets will emerge as the NEW forerunner. make sense?

dude, u gave me something to think about there. what if (as has been theorised for sometime) the forerunners created the flood as a first shot at attempting life. this failed miserably so the flood was imprisoned, but the forerunners then struck gold with the prophets. the forerunners created the prophets with the flood in mind, so that when the halos were activated the prophets survived. the forerunners then left it to the prophets to ensure the halos were activated again if needed, but then found "the reclaimers" then told them to do it, without the prophets knowing, hence the prophets' hatred of humans.
that is why regret is not fully assimilated by gm, he is immune, that is why mercy is not floodied my the infection form that gets him.

god, i'm good.

If i remember the first game correctly the Covenant did that by mistake....or at least Cortana thought they did it by mistake. Perhaps they thought they were bringing "the Great Journey" upon themselves, she says something like "those covenant fools, there must have been signs, they must have realised...."

Truth probably ordered the attack on the colony of Reach and probably authorised the jumping of the fleet in pursuit of the pillar of autumn but may not have realised that his followers would land on Halo and set the flood loose. The covenant have been studying the rings for a long time and it seems as if they havent mistakenly let the flood out before - probably as Truth has been overseeing the exploration. Truth may have simply not told anyone else about the true purpose of the rings because he is unsure whether the rest of the covenant are willing to commit suicide for their religion as he is. Or he could have another more cunning plan which is yet to be revealed.

Perhaps the rings are holy and are the path to salvation, as the Covenant seem to think, because they are the galaxy's salvation from the Flood. The Covenant just misinterpreted this. Let's face it, they aren't exactly spot on as to what the Forerunners are all about. The divine wind that Regret speaks of is when the Halos fire.

Here's a thought about Regret and Truth's agenda. Truth's ultimate agenda is still a little hazy but he's planning something big cos he needs sole control over all the Covenant to do it.

Regret comes to Earth looking for something, something that Truth would probably also have known about - being the most powerful prophet. It's possible that Truth suggests to Regret that he should go discover this new object and so results in Regret taking "action too soon" which isnt necesarily an attack on humanity, it could be a search of the start of the Great Journey. Whichever it is Regret is now out of favour, he apologises to the "prophets" not specifically to truth and mercy which may suggest that at least one of them knew Regret was taking this action. Now this gives Truth an excuse to kill Regret if the MC doesnt do it for him - Truth orders the destruction of the temple which Regret has taken refuge in. Later on Truth tells Mercy that the Great Journey waits for no one, so removing mercy from the picture as he is attacked by a flood. So Truth now has control of all the covenant.....but to what end?

Let me just say that I have not read all previous posts in detail, and skipped page 2 altogther. Now then. Time for a history lesson, sorry if this info has been posted.

The Prophets evolved on a planet that the Forerunners were said to have inhabited. That is why they are the leaders of the Covenant. If they were forerunners, then they would not have misinterpruted artifacts that they found that told of the Halos and what they did. They thought that the Halos would send them to some kind of afterlife, and that's what happened to all the forerunners. We know otherwise becuse 343GS says in Halo 2, "After exausting every other strategic option, my creators activated the Rings. They, and all other life [in the galaxy] died, as planned." (bracked portion may not be exact words used) So all the Forerunners are dead. They left behind evidence of what happened to them, which was misread by the Prophets. The end.
Please don't ask me where I got all this information, I've collected it from a large number of (respectable) sourses, but didn't keep records of what info came from where.

Too bad there wasn't an in-depth preview of the actual Forerunner city.

Prophets are not the Forerunner.

Maybe the prophets are forerunners and are deceiving the covenant and using them to reactivate the halos and kill off the flood. I mean if the humans could figure out that halo was a weapon the prophets must know what it dose. They probably want to wipeout the humans because the object under the earth is some kind of failsafe device that can disable all the halos and they don’t want to risk them getting to it and now they are trying to destroy it. or there is somthing else we dont know about the humans that could case the prophets to fear them.

Your kidding right?
In the books it says the Prophets land on one of the old Forerruners planet , make it there home find an artifact..
Which I assume begins the Holy crusade that there on.
Why would they find artifacts that they left a long time ago?......a treasure hunt?

They did not leave them there ancestors did and they needed to find them to locate the halos.

Like I said they could have deliberately misinterpreted the artifacts to deceive the covenant so they could use them to locate the rings.

The Forerunner could be existent in another realm or universe, seeing how the Prophets want to "find means of the Forerunners' transcendence" hence their Great Journey.

Perhaps rumors of Forerunner appearing in Halo 3 can come true. Maybe upon activating Halo, a portal opens up...
