If you don't understand the question fully then listen up. (Bear in mind that I mean components that come from Halo, not any other game)

Where you would have the level? (Snow,Desert,Jungle,Urban,Space or Sea)

What would happen? (Basic storyline,Twists and Unexpected events)

What would the level achieve?

What (if any) special features would you have? (eg.part of the level is you and some marines storming a building)

What help would you have? (Marines and vehicles)

What kind of enemies would you have to face? (Strong waves of enemies being delivered by dropship or wiping out the rest of a depleted covenant army)

Hopefully this subject will get some creative juices flowing and some good discussions about ideas about what will be on Halo 2

I would have a level, which is on a planet, that is being glassed by the covie baddies. There are stationary guns across the level, and in the middle, a huge crater from a human nuclear bomb to stop the covenant from advancing. Once you help the marines, an explosion happens. The flood! they were hiding in the caves, and the covenant released them to kill us! Well, MC has a surprise as well. Earlier in the game, he went into the covenant cruiser, and trained the Engineers to self-destruct the craft, and all the covenant and flood instantly die! (well, some in a 1/2 mile radius), and the others die from my mad sniping!

Yeah, I kinda get what you mean JoeyBagaDonuts. Bungie do make some amazing levels, with great storylines and plots. I was talking hypothetically where lets say one lucky Halo fan got to plan out a whole level for Halo 2.

Ha! Just think how jealous your friends would be, and how proud you would be if your idea actually made it onto the game (thats if your idea was good and went down well with fans).

Hmmm, I think I'd have it in the Alps.... it's winter and the covenant have set up an "underground" suppply base with a lot of banshees and they haven't started guarding it properly -they're still organising themselves in there, but there's many of them!!! Yo.u get marines to drop you off at the ouside of one of the cave entrances and tell them to wait for you outside. You actually get to choose what weapons you get, but they have to be human... You sneak in (all still in fmv by the way) and, as MC places the first C4 charge on some massive plasma tanks all hell breaks loose as a grunt sees you. Action starts and wave after wave of grunts attacks your cornered position. There's a trigger that activates as soon as you lose your shield and suddenly the wall explodes next to you and a warthog bursts in flattening 15 grunts in fron of you. The gunner marine gets blown away by an elite's plasma rifle and the marine screams at you to get in - you gladly oblige and he drives off back through the hole in the wall. You've got one of them warthogs off the e32k4 demo, which fires rockets. You're driving through the facility and you blast enemies behind you who are carrying fuel rod guns which to make it look better, arent hitting you. Goldnen elites pop up every so often and shoot the -blam!- out of you with plasma rifles.... another bunch of warthogs burst throught the wall and follow you, telling you to shoot at things in fron.... A roadblock appears and it's recommended to blast it away, otherwise.... you die. Harsh but true, Suddenly, after a massive leap into what seems nothing, you're on a narrow road down the mountain. You see the other warthogs successively get destroyed bhind you and then the flame of the facilitycoming out of the banshee takeoff zone. But as you speed down a dozen banshees appear and, just as they start firing their fuel rod cannons successively, a bunsh of lonswords take the wings off them as you desperately fire your rockets!
The end.

UNSC scouts using atv's spot a squad of 50-100 covenant moving in a grassy hill country with rivers and scattered trees. They are strategicaly placing their troops in a position to flank a human stronghold, with ghosts and covenant ground tranports.

The UNSC scouts report and Master Chief is called in along with a squad of about 7 fully loaded warthogs, 6-10 atv sniper/heavy demolitions teams attacking from afar (1 rocket launcher/ 1 sniper)surrounding the covenant. The atv is a good escape for relatively defensless sniping squads.

However, before the warthog and sniper/demolition assault, the scouts call in an airstrike to take out the bulk of the covenant, allowing the rest to mop up.

The insertion is straight out of the pelican as it is moving which is holding you in a warthog with two ODST's in there with you. The pelican flies low and drops you directly into battle along with the other warthog teams! All the while you have sniper cover and rocket launcher support, which of course is careful not to take you out too. The air strike can be viewed either as a cut scene that opens for the level or something similar to the insertion of Silent Cartographer (i prefer the latter).

As far as plot twists, well I don't have any. It would just be sweet to start a level already in a warthog that is dropped directly in the thick of battle.

Wow. Some deep thinking obviously gone into that idea MoDaConQuErOr. The whole idea of infiltrating a Covenant underground base seems a very likely event to happen and would quite easily fit into the whole idea of Covenant invasion.

Another good idea is from H20 gruntythirst. I really like the idea of coming into a battle mid-way. In Halo everything seemed to start with Master Chief. The whole idea of being dropped from the pelican in mid-flight adds a cool sense of spontaneity. Great idea and very dramatic too!

Desert Sentinel:

Location: USA, Unknown Desert Area in Nevada

Storyline: While retreating from a large group of covenant forces, composed of a couple dozen brutes, 8 ghosts, and 6 phantom dropships, a UNSC squad of 12 ODSTs and 4 warthogs, discover a large covenant cliff base, which is recieving such vehicles as Shadows, Wraiths tanks, in mass numbers, and about 4 to 5 large plasma cannons from a large covenant cruiser hovering several thousand feet above the base. One of the large plasma cannons has already been established at the summit of the cliff base as defense. While examining the cliff base, a covenant scouting unit spotted them, alarmed the base, and are now under heavy attack. So far, 1/4 of the squad has been decimated. The Master Chief is now on the way to the UNSC squad to be deployed by pelican on the summit of the cliff base, along with several UNSC reinforcements, which are composed of 16 marines, 4 ODSTs, 2 rocket hogs, and an engineer. The large covenant force that was chasing the UNSC squad is 10 miles away and approaching the southeast side of the base. The Master Chief must escort the engineer to the control room of the large plasma cannon, defend the engineer while he hacks the control panel in order for it to take out the incoming ground forces of the large covenant force, then escape the base in a pelican in 5 minutes before the plasma cannon self-destructs, collapsing a vital earth structure on the cliff base that will completely destroy both the base and top ridge of the cliff. After escaping from the cliff base, the Master Chief must board the covenant cruiser, of which from intel by Cortana states that there are jump coordinates to another halo ringworld.

Objectives:
1. Eliminate all cliff base covenant defense forces on the ridge.
2. Escort the engineer through the summit sector of cliff base to the established large plasma cannon.
3. Defend the main plasma cannon control room from incoming covenant forces while engineer hacks control panel.
4. Escape the summit sector of cliff base to the pelican dropship.
5. Infiltrate the covenant cruiser from the docking bay to the main control room.

Beginning Weapons:
Battle Rifle, Rocket Launcher.

Composing Enemies: Minor numbers of Brutes, moderate numbers of Elites, large groups of Jackals, 2 Phantom dropships and 6 Ghosts.

Where you would have the level? Jungle

What would happen? You crash land with 5-8 Marines with only a sniper with low ammo ( therefor forcing you to use covenant weapons later in the game...or kill your own men for their ammo) and you have to reach the landing pad of the covenant, to hijack one of their wraiths. _-=Scene=-_ While half way through the forest you see a faint blue light in the sky ( guess whoooo....yep...343 GS) with a small fleet of his lackys. You don't fire at them, but just stare, and one of your maries begin to go a little crazy, kind of the o my gosh..what if they see us..what if I die...I'm to young to die...ahhh..and just pulls out his Battle Rifle and starts shooting at them, revealing you and your men to the covenant and 343 GS, then you have to find one of the elites and steal his "anti-son-of-a--blam!--stick" ( heh...loved that from E3) to cut your way through some thick trees you encounter. Once you find and kill the elite for his sword, you work your way through the forest, and un noticably your men start disapearing ( since your facing forward cutting the trees, you dont notice ) you soon realize, when they are all gone, something is in the forest. Thats when a covenant Battle ship flys slowly over, casting a huge shadow on the whole forest. Then it slows to a halt, and activates its gravity lift. _-=Scene=-_ You see supplys and more troops droping down from the ship, along with one prophet drop down after the supplys are down. Your new mission is now to kill the prophet AND hijack a wraith. You finish choping through the forest, and end up at the outside of a small covenant encampment, with 2 turrets on 2 different walls, with 2 brutes and 2 elites guarding the door. (the elites are gold, with their plasma swords) You fight your way in, find the prophet, kill him, find your wraith which is guarded by 9 brutes and a few turrets. You see all of your men that had come with you laying on the ground dead, and one of them happens to have a sniper with a few bullets left, you CAN pick it up and snipe the brutes, or just fight them off. You steal the wraith and fly off.

What help would you have? 5-6 marines

What kind of enemies would you have to face? already told
