I think that everyone is forgeting something from the past games that you should know. In Halo 1 Guilty Spark said "After they exhausted all military uses they activated the rings". This says that the forruners were conquerers or they could have saved humanity. In that time there could've been civilizations that took over other planets. The forruners would've put flood on that civilization and let them die.

If you think about it it makes sense why would you have the flood even exist in the first place. It then also makes sense why you would have flood on the halos. Gravemind is a good example of the intelligence of the flood.

I don't think anyone has said this but if they activate halo then all of the flood will be dispersed because if you think about it, most people think a big explosion will occur but if it did then the ring would be destroyed and that isn't what happened. The rings were still there and so was Guilty Spark. So anyways if you activate the halos the flood would be dispersed and would kill all sentian life, which is what is said in the first halo. The flood on the other planets would die and would lose their food source, but there would still be flood on the rings like when MC went on the first halo.

Gravemind knows this and was waiting for civilization to start up again so he could continue what the forruners started. Halo is a weapon that originally was used to cleanse the universe of all races. I think that the Gravemind is a special forrunner creature left by them to kill all sentian life and to keep the horror they saw from happening again.

the halos use nuetrinos that are attuned to a certian frequency to break apart DNA at a radius of 25,000 light years. nice idea though

Did you even play Halo 2 at all?
Or even Halo 1 for that matter.
GS and PT talk about containing the flood, as in the Flood are enemies of the Forerunners.

First of all, you've misquoted 343. He says: "After exhausting every other strategic option, my creators activated the rings." And thats right off the top of my head.

There's really nothing else in this post that makes any sense or has any evidence other than random speculation...

do you know why the halo's are there? Cuz Bungie put them there

Lol. Seriously, the rings were activated before, so it shows that the halos can survive an explosion.

plus, if the halo made an explosions is wouldnt just wipe out life without damaging other...things (planets, stars, other life, machines). So if the halos are activated it couldnt possibly explode otherwise nothing would be left. When the halo is activated it must do something else that only wipes out life.

I don't thing there can be an explosion. If there was all the forerunner structures would have been desimated. Right?

I think the activation consisted of a something a little more suttle to the enviroment. Maybe chemical?

You mean resonance, but;

It sure is. Shame that neutrinos arn't affected by normal matter and hence their speed (hence resonance) cannot be altered.

If they could though, this'd be one NASTY weapon...

Wow, if you just call people names, people sure are going to want to agree with you [/sarcasm]

And anyways, is it his fault that he has not read the books throughly like you have, and examined every page? He just didn't have something right, you don't have to be so mean.

apparently the rings have large geneators that power some type of large lazer or mirco wave beam or a radiation cannon that way it fries all life that the flood needs to exsist
