hi

why didn't 6 just take one of the serpras in the corvette?
and Jorge probably found another bomb or something , and wire it to the slip space bomb. corvettes would have some explosives on them.

how does 6 even survive falling to reach? why does he fall if he's in space? even with his armor, he'd get burned up.

Reach for Halo!

For the lulz...but in reality it was just to make the story more intense, plus time was running out and George thought that by activating the slipspace drive it would kill the super carrier and thus end the fight for reach. Other Spartans, such as Sam #034 did the same thing to other ships.

One word...re-entry pack It was discussed in the Halo Graphic Novel and on HaloPedia

The bomb itself was a slipspace drive. It didn't explode, it activated a slipspace jump within the ship transporting the whole middle section. Jorge had to manually activate the drive. A bomb off of a Seraph fighter would just destroy the Slipspace drive and cause minor damage to the Covenant Supercarrier.

I think it was just a time thing. They didn't have time to improvise. They had almost docked with the Long Night of Solace and it wouldn't have taken long for the covenant to figure out what had happened.

Also the reentry pack thing, it even says re-entry pack on the device 6 is wearing. Its clearly not a jet-pack since you can't use it in the mission.

Also, 6 fell because the ship was in low orbit. You still fall if you're close enough to the planet, it just wouldn't seem like it since there's next to no point of reference.

Straight from the wandering mind of Watson 203

He falls when he's in space because he's close enough to Reach that it's gravitational attraction force is strong enough to bring him down.

He'd only burn up if he falls too fast. The reason things burn up when they enter atmosphere is because of the sudden increase in the amount of gas molecules. If the Reentry unit slows six down enough before he enters the atmosphere there shouldn't be enough friction to vaporise him or burn him up.

Ships in space are going faster than those on planets because of the lack of any gaseous particles or molecules to bump into and hence slow them down. When they enter atmosphere they start to collide with lots of particles which slows them down and also creates a lot of friction. The ships kinetic energy gets converted into heat energy due to friction caused by colliding with the gas molecules in the air.

so why doesn't every pelican have one? none of red team had one in first strike.

Six didn't get it from the Pelican, he was never even in one. It automatically attached to his back when he sat down in the Sabre. Honestly, I don't see how you couldn't have realised this if you've read the link.
Red team didn't have any Reentry packs because the Pillar of Autumn probably wasn't equiped with them or because they are specific to the prototype Sabre you pilot in Reach and/or are experimental pieces of equipment themselves.

Because they weren't prepared, they were expecting a Pelican ride down.

Noble 6 came prepared, he was in the Sabre, I would imagine that if you got shot out of the Sabre, you would have to reenter Earth, thus explaining why he as a pilot had a reentry pack.

Hey I am a big Bungie fan ever since I played Halo 2. I love the series, I love Bungie. I have made a few Bungie logos in my metal shop.

Because the story was way more intense.
