I don't. Henceforth I don't accept the events in its campaign as belonging to the halo universe. To me it isn't Halo if not made by Bungie or 343.

I'm not that active, but never dead.

I just hate how so cartoonish and shallow it was. I expected so much more from it, considering Bungie's history with Myth, and Myth II.

Also, resource havesting is lame. The game should have never had it.

EDIT:I am aware that Bungie did not make Halo Wars. However, they did do a lot of consulting and helping during it's development, and also did a lot of collaboration with regards to story and making it fit in with the rest of the universe. So Bungie's history does factor into Halo Wars's development somewhat. Ensemble did talk to Bungie during the development of the game, and used the Halo Bible as well.

Why hello there.

I'm sorry, but it actually is a Halo game. Just because someone else made it doesn't mean it's not part of the franchise.

Personally I think Halo Wars is a great game. It took the series in a new direction which, I think, worked well.

Also, as Teagg said above me, just because Bungie/343i didn't make the game doesn't mean it isn't canon. It's still a Halo game despite it not being an FPS.

Yes it is, whether you like it or not.

That's like me saying "I don't consider the Vietnam war to be history because the USA lost".

It's retarded.

Oh and the majority of people would disagree with you. Proof

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

It's a Halo game and anyone who denies this is only kidding themselves. It's not up to the likes of you to decide what is and isn't canon, both Bungie and 343i recognise it as such - therefore its canon. No idea why you wouldn't call it a Halo game, it has a better story than both Halo 3 and Reach.

@accordingto343

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

Your opinion doesn't matter on the subject of it being canon or not, it is. That is a fact.

bungie didn't make it so why would their history with myth and myth 2 have a factor in halo wars? That point is completely irrelevant unless you are truly that dumb to think bungie made the game.

OT: halo wars is a halo game, just because it is not an FPS does not mean it is not canon. Ensemble enlisted the help of bungie to make sure the game was going along with the halo universe. also, Just because you are a scrub at it and did not like it does not mean you can judge whether or not it is a halo game

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Good thing your opinion doesn't matter at all.

Halo Wars is a game, and is there for canon, just as any other, including Reach. Just because you didn't have fun in it or didn't like it because it wasn't an FPS doesn't mean it's a bad game or had a bad story line.

You need to grow up when it comes to these things.

just because you did not like it does not mean it is not good. It got really good reviews, was considered the best console RTS still to this date, had the best cinematic's (which were years ahead of it's time) and had a unique perspective on the halo universe. Not to mention, on average there are around 5,000+ players every night when i play it.

SO if it was bad why is there still 30k plus matches played every 24 hours with around 50,000 players every 24 hours?

We should know better, because we are better.

It is a fun, unique, and canon game just like Reach, ODST, and every other Halo game.

Too bad that Micro$oft calls the shots when it comes to Halo, so your opinion is irrelevant.

  • 07.15.2012 3:58 PM PDT

Yes, plus it had the best cut scenes of any halo game.

  • 07.15.2012 4:58 PM PDT

gooby pls

The cinematics are pretty cool.

No seriously, get off Halo.

I consider it a special edition Civilization Game.

Hanger one I just shredded with the SMGs until ammo was out and I just threw 'nades like a boss while BRing.

My experience playing Cairo Station on Legendary

I enjoyed Halo Wars, but it didn't live up to my expectations. Graphics and Gameplay aside, the tone of the game was a little to light. I didn't feel that whole, if we don't do this, Humanity loses the war. Sure it was stated again and again, but I didn't feel it... you know?

It's even more important when you consider that HaloWars is technically the reason Halo 4's story exists as it does, since Wars introduced the Shield World.

(To discuss Halo 4.)

There are no major canon contradictions in Halo Wars as far as I am concerned, excluding game play, which is never canon in any Halo game.

It had a good story, hell it was one of the best additions in that fact, confirmed and showed a lot of things from other Halo games, e.g. Regret, another Arbiter, Forerunner tech etc.

As a game, I love playing it, too.

Wut?

Bungie didn't make Halo Wars. Ensemble did.

And there was no resource harvesting.

And yes OP, it is a Halo game.

Hey I am a big Bungie fan ever since I played Halo 2. I love the series, I love Bungie. I have made a few Bungie logos in my metal shop.

Therefore since someone gets an advantage from picking characters halo wars isn't a halo game.
