Oh Yes!

Yes. I really hope we're given clues as to what happened to the UNSC Spirit of Fire.

  • 07.21.2012 12:08 AM PDT

Waypoint Moderators aren't really Moderators, just power hungry and its goal is defend their beloved Halo at all costs. (Meaning that they wank Halo too much.)

BS Angel is alleged foe so, be wary of Waypoint and its moderators! Do not attempt to move to Waypoint. Enter your own risk.

*WARNING* IT IS MY OPINION.

Halo Wars is canon. That's end of story. You have no say in deciding factor of canon levels.

Period.

Yes.

I hope so too. I would really like to know what happened to them.

Yes, I AM just that awesome.

Of course, just because it wasn't an FPS doesn't mean it isn't a Halo game.

  • 07.21.2012 8:09 AM PDT

Of course Halo Wars is a Halo game. The campaign wasn't all that interesting, but it was okay.

8/5/08 Bungie Favorites- NoEnd
7/1/09 Bungie Favorites- RECON Devil
9/9/09 Bungie Favorites- Champion
5/22/10 HaloCharts Favs- Prey

I consider Halo wars canon. It occurred in the Halo Universe.

  • 07.21.2012 11:39 AM PDT

I don't.

Some of those vehicles were ridiculous, I hated Halo Wars, I thought the story was -blam!- ing retarded and could have been written by a 14 year old who got into halo at Halo 3, and the gameplay was stale.

Don't get me started on the two red teams and the energy shielding.

As do I, but I doubt 343 will actually resolve those storylines (Like grey team, black team, in addition to SoF or what Gamma company was doing *Unless they say that in the next book for gamma company*)

A: Which vehicles, and how were they ridiculous?
B: Seeing how Spartan Teams were made basically per mission... (You know, a Spartan in blue team one mission is now in red team for this mission)... there is no issue there. These guys got the designation of "Spartan red team" for this mission. Then they went MIA.
C: Energy shielding on MJOLNIR IV (In halo wars campaign) is, and always will be for Halo Wars, a non-canon GAMEPLAY FEATURE. That's it, it's GAMEPLAY to make the Spartans a sort of 'hero/special' unit. In the cutscenes, zero shielding.

--doublekill002

It is a halo game, Bungie worked with Ensemble so there is credibility to the campaign.

  • 07.23.2012 6:05 PM PDT

I do, They even confirm the spirit of fire missing in Halsey's journal I believe

  • 07.23.2012 7:31 PM PDT

Sup, I'm Vette. My online name is usually Corvette19, so if you see me at another website, that's my name. I first started playing Halo when I was in the 4th grade, now I've graduated. I believe that was 2002-2003? Anyways, I've been with Halo for a long time. I mod Halo PC/CE so just hit me up if you want to. My Xfire=Corvette19. That's all I can say pretty much..

It's incredibly fun when you get good games going.

52,000 kills in Halo 2 and more legendary playthroughs in CE than you can imagine. I am truly a God.

I don't. Henceforth I don't accept the events in its campaign as belonging to the halo universe. To me it isn't Halo if not made by Bungie or 343.

Your opinion doesn't matter on the subject of it being canon or not, it is. That is a fact.

Actually it does because it's his opinion, I feel the same way about that God awful Halo Legends garbage. The events in Halo Wars have never even been acknowledged and though I think the story was weak it don't hate that game, aside from the fact that it was a poor RTS and the Vehicles and units that they invented in may cases did not fit Halo at all. The Vulcher was cool though.

I also consider Fist full of Arrows to be Cannon, because it is awesome, and well written, it fit the Halo universe, unlike that Legends Saturday morning cartoon crap.

If anyone wants to get together and play some Marathon Durandal on the xbox contact me and we can work something out.

Halo Wars is a Halo game, and I personally love the game, kinda wish they would make a sequel that was more like their first E3 video. Dam the game looked sick in alpha.

you have no idea what your talking about. It was the best console RTS to date and the land vehicles, air and infantry are in a rock, paper scissors concept which is in every RTS game. The vehicles followed the UNSC vehicles and Covy vehicles formats from every halo game...Pretty much just Get your facts straight.

O and you barely played MM, which explains a lot as well..

only 110 games played

Lol, no. Halo Wars, along with Halo Legends, is canon. You may not like it, you may not accept it, but it is a fact. And when it comes to fact, opinion has very little to do with it.

Bubble o mania is just one of the really great games also cookies walk in the woods is a really fun adventure game that not only has great gameplay but also features brilliant graphics aswell.

it sort of is but its a tad boring and to much like a mini game really halo 1 is the best game noodle

Yeah.

The game could have been so much better gameplay-wise then the way it is now. The game was fun at first but then it got really stale and repetitive. Haven't played it in months.

If they make a Halo Wars 2, it needs to be FAR superior then the first in every single category and needs a more massive universe.

I love the game, I don't really like the campaign, but I consider it cannon.. or at the very least, moreso cannon than Halo 4... I don't like the direction microsoft and 343 are taking the franchise... but I'll give it a chance.

This isn't the premise of whether you accept something as canon or not. The only reason reach got flak was because how it conflicts while bungie said "it fits perfectly" other than that if there were little mistakes here and there it wouldn't be a issue. We didn't rage because we didn't like the game but how it was forced into fitting in with an established story.

All this " i don't like the game" or " i don't actually understand the game" being the basis for you "accepting" something as canon is childish and ignorant.

343 owns the rights of halo wars now, I heard rumours that they may even be possibly continuing on with the series.

I barley played it because it was a Bad RTS, I was busy playing DOW 2, a real quality RTS while you were playing this. The single player was okay, the multiplayer has some interesting elements but the reality is that is was overly simple, full of useless units, and not particularly good or well balanced.

Kthxbye.

And really I have no idea what I am talking about because I disagree with you? I would bet I have played more RTS games than you have, so there for have a better idea what I am talking about than you do, I have to add that CnC 3 Kanes Wrath was a better console RTS than Halo Wars was, hands down. Get over yourself, also try grammar, it is your friend.

Oh and I don't consider thing that were poorly implemented or badly written and not acknowledged by any of the other Halo media to be Cannon.

Halo Legends is one of these things, I mean -blam!- space bikes, and stereotypical crappy Anime characters in Halo? Screw that.

Halo Wars feels like such an afterthought it is not even funny, but I am willing to except it as cannon, even if it does not feel like Halo.

Wow... hostility much? Sorry for sounding "childish and ignorant" I was simply stating my opinion and whether I "consider Halo Wars a Halo game" or not as per the topic of this forum post.

If you'd like my reasons why, I'll just say that I agree with the majority of people I know who say that the campaign felt a little flaky, scripted, and lackluster. But as far as I know, the events fit with the halo lore involving the early Covenant attacks on Arcadia and the outer colonies. Granted the whole Spirit of Fire flying into and destroying a hollow forerunner planet-y thing, dealing with an isolated flood threat and somehow ending up lost in space for several years is a LITTLE far fetched, but ultimately believable if you ask me.

The reasoning behind my premature disapproval of Halo 4 is probably mostly the fact that they're randomly tacking on this Promethean storyline and cleverly throwing hints in CE Anniversary to make it all seem like it was their plan from the beginning, that and the way they're messing with the whole Cortana relationship players have known and loved for 3 consecutive games. Though I DO fully recognize the rampancy explanation. I just have trouble accepting it as cannon (though I know I will) because I'd much rather imagine the series being finished with Halo 3's ending.

As far as Reach goes, I don't see what people's problems are with it canonically, I suppose Halsey's involvement at the time of the planet's glassing is a little stretched as it compares to the book's explanation, but the Nobel team storyline is a perfectly believable "meanwhile" event to the book's description. The Spartan-IIIs were fully recognized and explained in the books, it's not like they didn't exist.

I gave my reasons as to why you do not know what you are talking about, you ignored all of them then made an unrelated post about my "grammar". You cannot deny the fact that halo wars was the best console RTS and still is. All of those games you mentioned had OK reviews and were told that the controls were clunky compared to halo wars.
