If Halo wars is canon.. why is the flood in it?
Sigh...
You are aware that the Flood is over 110,000 years old, yes? That they fought the Forerunners which generated the need for the Halos and Shield Worlds? You have been paying attention to the story for the past 11 years, yes?
Mendicant Bias betrayed the location of many of the Shield Worlds to the Flood, when humanity arrive 100,000 years later how are they supposed to know it's an intergalactic parasite that wiped out galactic civilisation? It appears as nothing more than a primitive native species that has never been seen before on any world - they don't know the true threat it poses at the time.
Also, the Spirit of Fire never makes it back to UNSC-controlled space, and even if they did humanity would either already know about the Flood after the events of Halo CE or it just wouldn't be thought much of if it was reported. It's not on any other human colony world, it's a threat that was only on one world which was DESTROYED. They'd be more interested in the Shield World itself.
Thus, it makes perfect canonical sense. You just have to pay attention...

The only thing that makes it a halo game is it begins with Halo.....simularities stop there...
You're making some kind of joke here, correct?
Similarities? Same weapons, check. Same vehicles, check. Same general plot as Halo CE, 2 and 3, check. Arbiter, check. Prophet of Regret, check. Concepts derived from games and books (glassing, Shield Worlds etc), check.
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and just assume you were joking because to say that Halo Wars has nothing in common with the rest of the series is just plain stupid.
