Having a different opinion =/= being a troll. Of course, a competitive wouldn't know the meaning of 'opinion'.

It's exactly as was two years ago. Casuals are idiots, competitives are stuck up pricks with an inflated ego.

Why Bungie, why would you do this?! - Halo Community

Posted by: MR E0S

If the game had a real ranking system, things wouldn't be so bad...

And I'm not going to quit/AFK to give the other team a boost, I would have to do that every other game. That wouldn't be any fun for me, or my teammates who may rely on a 4th person.

And every time you speak of bungie, MR E0S, giving competitive players what ever, it is plain ignorant. Competitive players are the least of Bungie/343's worries. There is no where to be competitive. EVERYTHING in Reach has some unfair and stupid element. In H3 social slayer, I could be a little lenient toward the enemy, and then in Ranked not care about the other team. There is no such thing in Reach, its ALL social. (Arena has awful maps. MLG is littered by parties.)

Evade, Jetpack, Armor Lock, Banshee Bombs (aka Banshee Nukes), Sword Base, Reflection spawns, Countdown camping, cardboard vehicles, bad default maps altogether, AR starts, bad ranked system, bad party system, Bloom (its randomness is the problem.) and the list goes on and on. Competitive players haven't gotten -blam!-.

The one thing you ARE right about is Bungie forcing those looking for a good time and those who want a little competition to face each other. Why they can't just do it Halo 3 style (ranked and social) and make everyone happy is truly beyond me.

Sportsmanship and manners don't exist in online Multiplayer FPS games.

So when your team is dominating you just sit there and let the opposing team kill you to even out the score? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Why give up the lead that you and your team have been working for to get? That's the whole point to matchmaking. If the opposing team is losing don't help them, if they suck then they deserve to lose. You don't encourage or help the other team for losing. There are no medals and awards in matchmaking for helping the other team.

But whatever, your whining about something you can't win against. I don't see the point in this argument. You're logic is nonexistent, but you did give me quite a laugh.

Want a cool clan? Join FRAG!

Want a war sim? The best war sim in Halo, Forerunner Conflict.

Let's say I've just matched you in BTB with a full party. You're stuck with a bunch of randoms. They suck. You're going to lose; it's inevitable. Do you want to be handed kills that you probably wouldn't get otherwise for 10 minutes, and STILL lose in the end, or do you want us to end the game 100-3 in 3 minutes so that you can find another game?

I'd rather quit that game at about the 50-1 mark. And be finding another game even quicker.

AND... at the same time avoid needlessly inflating your stats remaining in a match that should have never happened in the first place.

To those of you sitting on your 2.0+ K/D ratios.... yeah, how many matches were actually considered reasonable matches worthy of updating your stats for?

Back the the Major vs Minor Leagues. Would it be fair to credit a Major League team with a win towards qualifying for playoffs, and update all stats associated with playing that game because they beat some Minor League that they played for -blam!-s and giggles? No. Because it wasn't a fair match to begin with, so thus any stats gained from it are invalid. So take your W/L and your K/D's and ....

eh

You know what the one real truth is?
If a game doesn't track stats, that consitutes as a failure to you. There is something wrong with the industry if the simple inclusion of a leaderboard is what makes or breaks a game.

Even in every single reply, there is one message coming through. You still only think about yourself and the immediate team you play with.

This bears repeating too. There is a time and place for competitive players who's motto is "Show no mercy". That place is not matchmaking. That place would be better refered to as an actual sponsored tournament. A Lan tournament to be exact, to remove the variable called 'THE INTERNET'.

Or, how bout this? How many of you have fiber coming all the way to your house?

Here's the one and only acceptable competitive FPS variable.
Lan tournaments with Dedicated servers. Every single cord is the same exact length. Every device playing said game is exactly the same, and tested to be the same.

Anything less, should be considered casual.

Casual vs Competitive
Random vs Team
Random quits because of team.
Remove the team, random stops quitting.

Play as a random.

Teams are for douchbags anyway.

You already know 99% of the people you play against are randoms, and you're basically stacking the deck, to prove what? That you're better at a video game?

What would be easier, smarter, and more economically sound?
Everyone, everywhere plays as a random?
Or
Everyone, finds a team to play in?

Scenario:
Everyone is a random. No stacked teams, FAIR GAMES!!!!

Scneario:
Only way to enjoy Halo is to be in a team. Unfortunately, most team oriented people, will mistreat a great majority of the player base simply based of stats that were aquired because of a Team vs Random scenario.

To those of you that still think Halo:Reach hasn't been catering to competitive trash... I say this..

Why does matchmaking lock you into a lobby with no other option but to sign out or dashboard if you don't like that lobby? Because it was Bungies attempt to ensure that douchbag competitive players will get plenty of casual targets to shoot at.

In all truthfulness. Halo:Reach is actually the culimination of what happens when you try to take a casual shooter, and slowely turn it into a competitive peice of trash. And you competitives are too blind to see it and actually have the balls to blame the other side.

Competitives rage quit, casuals just quit.
Dispute that one.

If Halo wasn't trying to be so damn competitive, people wouldn't rage quit and the idea of a quit ban would have never been conceived.

Oh, you're going to love this one...
Who's more likely to cheat? Competitive players or casual players?

NOPE!!

Competitive players are more likely to cheat. By default.
In fact. Competitive playes are the only ones who will cheat. Casual players don't care that much about stats to risk the ban.

Or. You could make it so randoms only play randoms, and teams only face teams. MM wouldn't be so goddamn awful then.

Have you ever wondering why...

Competitives complain about AA's when casuals use them to escape death. But they never complain about the times when that AA saved their asses?
