Bye.

I'm going to keep this short and simple.

What's your opinion on customizable forum listings? Rather than seeing this when you scroll over the "Community" bar you would instead see a personal version -- like *this -- that you could fully customize.

If you're tired of searching for the Halo 3 forum you could simply add it to your community drop down menu and save yourself 3 vital seconds.

Any comments or queries?
(*Yes, it's shopped )

I ♥ Bungie!

That's an okay idea, although I don't really see the need for it.

"Except we, we're the zebras. All fenced in...and ready for the slaughter!"

That's pretty good. If we could also place links to Private Chapters, it'd be great.

If I am not posting, then I am reading what you might have posted.

I am fine with 3 seconds that I could have possibly lost. Because I am on every forum, some I don't post, but yes, I am there.

OT: So, this would be for people that would want to not see specific forums, and only see forums that they want to be involved in... Yeah, I will pass, but I am sure others would take a liking to it.

That was actually one of the reasons I'd love a system like this. I visit most groups more than I visit the news forum, so why can't I have a quick link to those groups?

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

Sounds like this is an easier job for the consumer to simply set-up bookmarks for their preferred browser.

Key

I don't see this being any sort of great help to any large part of the community, to be perfectly honest. The amount of time saved by this is literally seconds. Less than ten, at that.

Cammalamm is the best.

No need.

I think the OP has addressed two different issues that actually call for two different solutions:

Issue 1: Only a selection of the complete set of forums is easily visible in the menu bar.

Solution: A central landing page that lists all the forums. This is actually pretty common on just about every other site on the internet.

Issue 2: Users need to be able to mark locations on the site that they can quickly go back to later.

Solution: Personalized bookmarks that can include any content on the site (forums, threads, news stories, etc). The "Saved Threads" feature was a start along this path, but it should be expanded to apply to other content types.

Couldn't I apply that to the "Saved Threads"? Why have have the option to save threads if it would be, and probably is, easier to just bookmark it? (At least Bookmarking allows you to give the thread an appropriate name instead of trying to guess why you saved it)

So it's unhelpful because it doesn't save a massive amount of time in a single use? Little things (like a few seconds)can add up (into hours).

I frequent the "Halo 3 Forum" a lot and I'd much rather see that in my drop down menu instead of "The News" forum.

Remember when you were able to scroll over the "Games" Forums and it would show all of the available games forums? I hope that's brought back. If we could see all the forums from the community tab I don't think there would be any need for this system.

Hey I am a big Bungie fan ever since I played Halo 2. I love the series, I love Bungie. I have made a few Bungie logos in my metal shop.

Ya thats a pretty good idea

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

I think the primary goal of these boards should be to give the individual user more applicable tools to get what they want out of our community. As such, I think a customizable listing would be a great idea. Among other things.
