Humans don't work like that.
We share at least very similar genetic structure to the Forerunners. If a human can be made into a monitor or be imprinted, I'm sure one can undergo a brevet mutation too. It'd just be different.
I reckon the Chief's already carrying the latent imprint of the Didact just as Cortana is probably carrying the Librarian's imprint (well, a copy of Halsey's.) So to go one step further isn't so impossible.
Anything can be turned into a machine and anything can be imprinted, we know this.
There are thousands of animals that we share a great deal of genetic makeup with but we don't nor do they undertake similar transformations. Not to mention i don't think any of you actually understand what a brevet mutation is if you are going around saying it so nonchalantly and then suggest chief will undergo one.
An example of a brevet mutation, which are riskier versions of the usual forerunner mutation, is when Didact passed his memories onto Bornstellar.
This allowed him to continue existence despite him....er....self, being killed by Faber.
They are genetically somewhat similar, but that doesn't mean it's not risky, it's risky for forerunners, let alone humans, let alone Spartans.
Who knows, maybe he will, maybe he won't, obviously they'll find a way to explain such a thing, that or they'll just say 'Chief took the risk of undergoing a Brevet and was rewarded. By not dying.'
It is still entirely possible that Chief could be a suitable subject.
But it's likely he's not.
Still, we can't rule these things out.
