except for the people who are trying to pimp their groups,
So in other words you mean to say that a lot of people look at the Classifieds daily.

And why do you keep suggesting stuff people pay for? Nobody wants there to be any sort of paid feature on here.

You should check out the MyAds script. And the classifieds aren't completely dead.

No. Sorry to say, but regardless of whatever fixation you might have on the idea that Bungie should get money from us of some sort to use any facet of Bungie.net, nobody wants to pay money to use any part of this site (and Bungie knows that).

Not to come off on the wrong foot, but why do you want to change this site so bad? Most of it is paid features that we have to pay for?

I would have suggested that is be a free feature, but that would be unrealistic.

The Classifieds aren't dead. Unless you can actually pull hits/page and see that information, there are many more people that lurk on bungie.net rather than post on any given day.

I'm getting annoyed with all these paying ideas.

Agreed. There is absolutely no reason to bring cash into the equation. Bungie does well enough as it is.

Couldn't have put it better myself.

It's quite simple guys. Searching for groups should be like searching for photographs in Reach. Well, not exactly like it, but just as a photograph's owner can tag his photos in the hopes that people will find it when searching, a Group's admin should be able to write up an advertisement for his group, and tag it with tags that describe his group.

The advertisement itself would be no different than writing up a new's story for your group, except that each group only has one advertisement to work with. The abillity to edit an advertisement would be a priviledge that can be assigned to any user role just like news story creation and the abillity to edit posts and such.

Only people who can edit that group's advertisement can edit the tags. This is important, because otherwise we'd just have grafitti attacks all over again where rival groups add tags like "stupid", "groupleaderisforeveralone" and all that garbage we saw with Reach. Unlike Reach's system you'll have the abillity to edit or remove tags, and unlike Reach's system you would not be able to vote up tags. This prevents a group with a huge population base to beat out other smaller groups.

A user would be able to search for partial or full tags. The results could be displayed in a variety of ways, such as ranking the advertisements by population (increasing and decreasing), how old / new the group is, ect.

It would work out much better than how the Classifieds are at the moment.

I don't like paying for stuff. That's my opinion and I'm sticking with it.

For Carnage Apply Within

They think that they have pacified Ireland. They think that they have purchased half of us and intimidated the other half. They think that they have foreseen everything, think that they have provided against everything; but the fools, the fools, the fools! — they have left us our Fenian dead, and while Ireland holds these graves, Ireland unfree shall never be at peace
-Pádraig Anraí Mac Piarais

It would only be abused.
