It's quite simple guys. Searching for groups should be like searching for photographs in Reach. Well, not exactly like it, but just as a photograph's owner can tag his photos in the hopes that people will find it when searching, a Group's admin should be able to write up an advertisement for his group, and tag it with tags that describe his group.
The advertisement itself would be no different than writing up a new's story for your group, except that each group only has one advertisement to work with. The abillity to edit an advertisement would be a priviledge that can be assigned to any user role just like news story creation and the abillity to edit posts and such.
Only people who can edit that group's advertisement can edit the tags. This is important, because otherwise we'd just have grafitti attacks all over again where rival groups add tags like "stupid", "groupleaderisforeveralone" and all that garbage we saw with Reach. Unlike Reach's system you'll have the abillity to edit or remove tags, and unlike Reach's system you would not be able to vote up tags. This prevents a group with a huge population base to beat out other smaller groups.
A user would be able to search for partial or full tags. The results could be displayed in a variety of ways, such as ranking the advertisements by population (increasing and decreasing), how old / new the group is, ect.
It would work out much better than how the Classifieds are at the moment.
