This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Title for Reference.

Shall we say the Spec Ops Elite team from Headhunters were to come face to face with Blue Team, on a similar terrain as the two young Spartan III's were on. Who do you think would win, the fight?

The lone Spartan had absolutely no chances against them, and only managed to take ones shields off. He even knew he was a goner.

So, Crocs or Reclaimers?

Discuss.

You said similar terrain. You didn't say similar situation.

-Would the Spec Ops team be an unexpected encounter?
-Would they both be aware of each other or would the Spec Ops have the upper hand in awareness?
-What does Blue Team have?

I think it's quite understandable that it would be in fight where the situation would be vastly similar to the Spartan III's situation. Blue Team would be equipped with whatever weapons and equipment they would use for a behind-enemy lines demo op.

Would Blue Team be careful enough to not be caught like the Headhunters were, their unawareness costing them half the team? That's a good question. In other words, yes, the Elites have the upper hand. Also they are shorter in numbers than Blue Team, so it seems fair.

So they'd have superior equipment?

As for discretion, I don't know enough about them to answer that. Given they're Spartan IIs, they'd be far less expendable and would be given better training.

So I think they could manage it, but it's still a matter of who has the element of surprise. Heavy causalities is nearly synonymous with defeat IMO.

.
Thats why that one lone spartan managed to take the 7 superior elites in the end.....

I agree that those elites aren't complete idiot like most elites, but it would be a close fight. The elites I would say are equal to the spartan II's. It could go either way.
