Great!

Just an FYI, most people struggle initially with pull-ups. If you do, consider using a chair for assistance.

Do you want a quitter and keep making excuses, or do you want to start making changes?

It's your call.

I'm not consciously quitting.I'm just not doing it, and when I do, it feels tedious and like a chore. I don't feel good doing it, which is weird because I was into it last week.

Wort, wort, wort!

I managed to start running every morning and improved from hardly a kilometer run to a three kilo every morning. Took me two months, lots of early mornings, but seeing the results is the greatest reward. Just get your -blam!- together, vision your goal and do it. You can feel better about yourself too. It's that easy. Thanks for help, thread.

Yeah, welcome to real life. A lot of the time you won't feel like doing your job, or going on the weekly shop, or finishing that DIY job. But spend your time like that and you'll have a bloody boring life. Man up and crack on.

Motivational videos can help.

1. My dad once told me, "The moment you rest on your laurels is the moment you lose it all."
If you're currently working hard, but then take a break, it can be impossible to make yourself get back on track. It's better to just keep grinding away and push through from start to finish.
What does this have to do with lifting? It means that I force myself to go on every scheduled day. Because once you start skipping days, it's very hard to make yourself get back on schedule. Unless you are bed-ridden with sickness, MAKE YOURSELF GO THE GYM. Show some self-discipline and show some mental toughness.

2. If you don't "feel good" doing it, consider Music. Use music and your imagination to vision yourself performing manly acts of greatness, then unleash that emotion into those dumbbells. Works for me.

I got a jogging/running whatever you call it related question. So basically I plan on running until the first snow and when the really bad temperatures hit (northern Europe master race). So, in the spring, when should I get back to running again? Any tips? I know I'll probably have to take it slow. And how do I keep my endurance in shape for three months without running?

You said you'll have access to a gym in a month, right? Plenty of good machines in there such as the treadmill, elliptical, stationary bike, etc.

If there are any indoor or heated pools in your area, you could swim during the winter. Swimming is one of the best forms of cardio.

This thread is meant for beginners, though, not for people who have been lifting for a long time.

What did you used to do?

Well I wasn't working my entire body. I have a second hand kind of home gym, and I say kind of because its old and I've lost the bars you use for barbells, so I only have a dumbell. I've been doing bicep curls, bench presses, and planks.

I'm now gonna start on a more well rounded workout.

Then yeah, your routine needs a revamp.

A gym membership is a must.

Is it that cheap? I was thinking at least 40. I'll look into it. Thanks.

Yes, some are very cheap at 20 bucks a month.

I get access to a basketball court, an olympic sized pool, a sauna at my 24 hour fitness. I can go to every other 24 hour fitness location in the country.
THAT'S 40 bucks a month.

For a total beginner, why not?

I would really like to hear what you have to say.
