So I'm supposed to have people sit there guessing what it was I typed?

If you constructed a proper sentence with the naughty word in we can pretty much guess what that word is going to be.
For example:

"Random guy 1 is a piece of -blam!-"
"Yeah, that mother-blam!- -blam!- sucks"

See?

You could have done something like this,

Hey guys,

I got warned in a thread, but I'm not really sure why.

Here is the thread.

Any input?

See, I did it just fine without breaking any rules.

Posted by: SENI0R XPL0SIVE
I hope you can accept this and if you have nothing relevant to what I'm requesting than you should just leave the thread alone and cease posting to it.

Also, I'd stop it with this. It is generally poor form and will lead you to trouble.

point taken to the clean way of doing it. links could've been used

and stop with what? The request to stay on topic(which you gave here) or the demand to stop posting if you won't?

No. Profanity is not necessary and therefore has no reason to be posted.

Never tell people they can't post.

Two things to remember,

1) Once your thread is posted it belongs to the community. Where it goes may be unexpected, but useful. There are times off topic post/posting may be insightful or the nature of the discussion is meaningful. It is up to the moderators to decided if/when the discussion has strayed too far.

2) Telling people not to post is an invitation for them to flame, derail, and destroy a thread. You will be eaten alive by the flood if you try and make a habit of this.

See the point but I think I might just do this

Random guy 1 is a piece of crap
Yead that motherPucker frickin sucks

I guess I can't deal with the whole censor thing.
I think it might be a pet pieve<--- don't know if I spelled that right?

Anyway I'll try to get over it and just let it censor me.
Thanks for the advice, TheSpiderChief

I don't think that's any better... Just refrain from making such remarks? It's not hard.

"Eaten alive" is hardly the phrase that describes it. More like viciously mauled.

That isn't what I'm trying to say.
There is no need for using profanity in any way.
Just re-word your sentences.

"Random Guy 1 is not a good player."
"Yeah, he isn't."

You don't need to swear or name-call.

See the point but try to clarify it initially next time.

And it's not much to ask that people can stay on topic. People should be respectful online and not derail a thread which is what someone does when they post off topic.

It not only opens the way for future flames but also makes it easier for trollers to thrive within the thread.

Also Beaten alive is to graphic for a situation involving a conversation between to users of an online forum. People can post what ever they think is "Necessary" and I wouldn't care less, It's online and what people say here doesn't affect me IRL. What people do on their computers when comunicating with others is a close representation of how the actually think. But most likely do not behave amongsts others they know.

If they choose to flame, troll, or hate on others posts online then it's their own problem not mine. If they continue to act that way than consequences will come weather online or IRL. It will become common mind set for them to behave this way and shall soon behave this way to people they know.

And if people do attempt to flame, derail, and destroy a thread it's your job to stop or control them so the rest of us may enjoy the discussion within the thread.

Okay got it LordMonkey, See the point you make and will accept it, what of the conditions where a "censored" word is needed and there's no alternative?
Example:

Weather she's a homo-blam!- or not doesn't matter, she's my friend.

There is always an alternative way to say something.

The weather is your friend?
She's certainly not mine :( Been raining here for the passed few days.

I'd rather not, but fine.

Your example (which I do not feel comfortable quoting) could easily be changed to "She is my friend and I accept her no matter what." or something along the lines of friendship and tolerance (get a me bronies).

Why would you willingly bypass the filter after knowing the OP got a warning for it, and several people explained the rule violation within the thread?
Does beg the question why you would bypass the filter though doesn't it.

It was censored as was expected.

Weather she's a (person who likes people of the same gender) or not doesn't matter, she's my friend.

I would have altered the word so you could see at least part of it but I would have recieved another warning.

Looking for clan that isn't too serious? Then join the ODST 501st Airborne Battalion. Go to http://www.501st.forumclan.com for more info.

In your case, I think they were completely reasonable. But for future references, I recommend you just deal with a warning. At least you're not banned, right?
