During the 22nd century a rampant AI named Traxus devastated the entire Martian grid, causing them to shut completely - and the implications lasted another decade or so.
So why in Hell would somebody name their company (see Halo 3, Reach) after such a psycho? "Hey, remember that computer that went bat-dung crazy and pretty much destroyed the technology of an entire civilization? Well, I'm gunna name ma company after such! The investors will REALLY dig that, especially those who live on Mars."
That's like naming your company 'Hitler, Inc.' during the year 2400. He may be long-gone, but the pain still remains.
Good job, Bungie!
