I'll be taking all the credit, naturally. As is the way of things.

Say everyone who desires to be a mod be thrown in a giant pit. They all fight to the death for the position.

Win the last two remain, we have them have a drinking contest ala "the princess diary"

And whoever survives wins....

Seems fair to me who else agrees?

“Strange,” mused the Director, as they turned away, “strange to think that even in Our Ford’s day most games were played without more apparatus than a ball or two and a few sticks and perhaps a bit of netting. imagine the folly of allowing people to play elaborate games which do nothing whatever to increase consumption.”

I really think any voting system is flawd. They never work. They are never fair.
Rubbish. Find the Condorcet winner and we can rule the galaxy as father and son.
Or something along those lines.

(If you prefer then I'll also accept Black's procedure)

Oh, I see. You've decided in your head what is going to happen in the event that you actually went through with this based on some sort of image you have of the Bungie Community painted in your head ever since the t-shirt incident of a group of people who all take fun contests way too seriously and who all have access to an army of alts, and so you're scared of ever trying any sort of community-based voting system whether it be in the Mail Sacks or in this hypothetical Ninja election because of the fact that you're scared of looking bad as a Community Manager in the event that something that isn't your fault and happens as a result of one person's actions ever takes place again.

I see. Perfectly reasonable. I also like how you've pulled out a Deadliest Warrior-esque computer program to run simulations of this Ninjelection which has never happened before to come to such a concrete, obvious, and infallible solution. I'll be PMing you later about that program. I'm in debt to this guy, and I wanna see if that thing can pick the Lotto numbers.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Asking the community to think about, contemplate, analyze, and choose nominees for Forum Ninja would be like asking a dog to speak English. All you're going to get is the same thing you've been hearing.

And what would that be? Truth be told, I only see threads discussing the possible idea of nominating a member to forum ninja, not much on who could do it, and why.

Why does the person have to be popular? Take the popularity contest and favoritism out of the picture. Then it sounds like a plausible idea.
I wouldn't say popular, but well known members with some time on this site should have a better chance because of good rep/history, and a good grasp of the rules.

“Oh, it’s a little bit of everything, it’s the mountains, it’s the fog, it’s the news at six o’clock, it’s the death of my first dog, it’s the angels up above me, it’s the song that they don’t sing, It’s a little bit of everything.”
- Dawes, A little bit of everything

I'd vote to let the powers that be decide because I feel that if we were given the ability to choose someone to moderate the forums people would think that voting in their friend would be tantamount to a "get out of the Disembodied Soul's outbox" card.Posted by: Dumbledore
It is a curious thing, but perhaps those who are best suited to power are those who have never sought it. Those who have leadership thrust upon them, and take up the mantle because they must, and find to their own surprise that they wear it well.
