Dude, no one was cheating, you are just making excuses.
This just in: alternate accounts are no longer cheating.

When November 6th comes I am SO getting a bunch of peoples' IDs and voting for them. It's not cheating after all.

Asking for votes does not corrupt any polls
Not inherently, no. But in this case? It did. And denying it makes you look silly. Especially when you are both denying it and admitting it happened in the same post.

lets not ignore the fact there were threads in the Mythic group and on coup de Bungie to vote for Ben. I saw them and pics of the threads. In response to you gaining 70 votes within eleven minutes yes. You admit there was cheating going on then.

I am sick of this hypocracy, but you know why no one complains about this or Ben cheating, because they wanted Ben to win no matter what and were willing to make someone else look bad to make sure he win.
No. Nobody's mad at Ben because he neither initiated this, didn't try to alter the votes (whether it's cheating or not is irrelevant. It's allowed, but he still didn't do it), and didn't deny the fact that there was cheating later when there clearly was. To be honest? At this point, I regret that Deej even gave you HALF of the shirt. You haven't acted with any humility about this whatsoever like Ben has. I personally didn't vote for either you OR Ben. I voted for Irish (incidentally, Ben and Irish were both tied with around 20 more votes than you each before you jumped 40 votes in those 11 minutes).

Quit trying to make yourself look innocent. You just admitted that you asked your group to vote for you. I'm sure that a lot of people didn't care about the poll. But they would be willing to help a friend, similarly to that Kitchen thread in the Flood a while back. You just admitted that you encouraged the corruption of a poll.

Bro, asking people to vote for you does not break any rules of any form of voting. In any voting, be it the presidency or on Facebook, people ALWAYS ask others to vote for them.

Asking for votes does not corrupt any polls, you are not controlling any votes. No one forced anyone to vote on anything.

And also to be fair, lets not ignore the fact there were threads in the Mythic group and on coup de Bungie to vote for Ben. I saw them and pics of the threads.

You honestly can't sit here and complain about someone asking others to vote for their submission when groups on Bungie.net (such as the Mythic Group and coup de Bungie) were helping Ben.

I am sick of this hypocracy, but you know why no one complains about this or Ben cheating, because they wanted Ben to win no matter what and were willing to make someone else look bad to make sure he win.

Dude, no one was cheating, you are just making excuses.

This is why I am mad, the hypocracy on this forum. This is also why the ninja election would not work. People would vote then the losing "team" is going to fabricate a false story on how the winner is a cheater causing the webteam to end the contest even though no one was cheating.

I mean, this is like immature politics except in the real world, you can get in a lot of trouble for making false and unsupported claims against another person.

This one. This one. This one. You clearly didn't look very carefully.
Lulz at you thinking that's a 'victory.' You just proved my point. Whenever someone else wants the results to go one way bad enough, it is corrupted. Your 'countless times' and '19 polls' you pulled out of your butt are voided. So thanks for that.

Clearly it's not, what I meant to say is that we're trustworthy 75% of the time. Excuse my numbers and grammar.
... So let's repeat the quote you just passed up.

First off, a large number of the challenges weren't vote based. Second, they weren't polls. Thirdly, even if all 19 were polls, that's not how statistics work.

Why is that? The point was that just because something or someone or some group messes up one time after having demonstrated their ability to do that activity in a non messed up way more than one time in the past doesn't mean that they should be restricted now from doing that one thing.Your analogy would only be accurate if you were talking about the pitcher deliberately sabotaging the performance (throwing the game). In which case he would indeed never be used again. The one you used is more fit to if the winner of a poll was someone you personally disagreed with.

Have you actually read my posts in this thread? I'm not talking about using a poll.... But Deej was. And then you called him an idiot for it. Which makes you either look unintelligent, unobservant, or a jerk.
:(
1. What? Where in any of those polls is there corruption of the system in any way to the extent of the Ken Debacle?

2. That new number is based solely on the 4 Mail Sacks where there was a poll. Your response therefore makes no sense.

3. So my analogy isn't perfect, but neither is your rebutle. The entire community involved didn't -blam!- up. Part of it did -blam!- up, and others reacted, but not everyone -blam!- up. Not everyone participate in the alts and not everyone participated in the counter-flaming of those who used the alts.

4. I was talking about his fear of polls in general. Not particularly his stance on this idea, mainly because they are one in the same.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

The only time i've been on a poll for a mailsack challenge, i didn't ask people to vote for me specifically.

As well, Why are you looking at images from Mythic Members? You're not in the group.

I just see it as a poor sportsmanship type deal. Don't ask people to vote for you. Tell people to check out the thread and vote for who they feel deserves the win.

The thing is dude no one has to do anything anybody says. I said "vote for me if you want to". There were plenty of people ion SV and FT who voted for other people.

But, that is not an argument for cheating, especially when other candidates were doing it.

What I see here are excuses being made to try and get some conspiracy of cheating off the ground.

Look, the reason people were mad is the person they were supporting was losing. Notice how no one complained about Ben and his votes when it was blatantly obvious people where helping him, I have seen several threads in private groups for people helping Ben, a few were to make sure "certain users" lose.

This just bothers me how all these people here are willing to do things they consider cheating then complain when other people do it. It is so hypocritical. People take these things way too personally.

I would like to see the community elect a mod, I think it would be fun. But what will happen is people will want their friends to help them (which is fine really, if someone believes someone they know should be a mod, then good. I wouldn't vote for some random). And, other groups will start fighting and claiming unfair sportsmanship. It is messy and to be honest uncalled for.

The Ben and Ken one.

2. That new number is based solely on the 4 Mail Sacks where there was a poll. Your response therefore makes no sense.... No, seriously. I fear for your future in society. I'll rephrase what was already incredibly obvious if it'll help... but dang.

First off, a large number of the challenges weren't vote based. Second, they weren't polls. Thirdly, even if all four were polls, that's not how statistics work.

4. I was talking about his fear of polls in general. Not particularly his stance on this idea, mainly because they are one in the same.'I was talking about this not that but only because they're the exact same thing.'

There's none on my end. I think you and Ben both deserved to lose, since you both cheated. It's hilarious you still think you deserve to win, based on the fact that you cheated better. Just shows how selfish you are to really care so much about one single t-shirt.

If you ask someone to vote for you, and they like you, they're more inclined to vote for you without looking at the others. That's how people work, ken. You think they made all those alt accounts and rethought their stance on the art every time they voted? Of course not. They spammed the voting system to vote for you and only you because you asked them to. Whether or not you wanted them to use alts, you knew they were using them and continued to ask for help.

This is why is totally silly to choose a mod by the members, this is why I said, this is all about popularity, you can see that there are a lot of members here that will do whatever it is to gain something from here with out selflessness. How can we pick one member to be Mod when there's a lot of members with alts and members that will vote for certain candidates by just popularity.

It's terrible sportsmanship. I like how you justified your actions by saying that others do the same thing, that's cute.

Asking for votes does not corrupt any polls, you are not controlling any votes. No one forced anyone to vote on anything. It does, actually. You asked people to vote for you, regardless of the merit. That "no one HAS to vote for me" justification is nothing but BS. The Kitchen thread in the flood a while back shows that people WILL vote for you if you ask them to.

And also to be fair, lets not ignore the fact there were threads in the Mythic group and on coup de Bungie to vote for Ben. I saw them and pics of the threads. Again. You're using the "If other people cheat, then it must be ok for me to cheat to" logic. And how would you know what's going on in the Mythic group if you aren't in the group yourself?

You honestly can't sit here and complain about someone asking others to vote for their submission when groups on Bungie.net (such as the Mythic Group and coup de Bungie) were helping Ben.Read above.

This thread is not meant to be about anybody. I am trying to prove a point that these contests have turned into a hypocritical disaster.

I have proven and showed examples of a one sided assault of users complaining about what other users do when they themselves are guilty of the same thing. (In this case, it was asking for votes or support which is normal for any competition or poll).

We can fight about this all day but in the end we know this can't work because people want to win. They want to make sure their guy wins and are willing to call out another team or bring this stupidity onto the mains.

It has happened before and it is going to happen again as long as a member someone hates is winning at something.

I really find that disgusting and a very immature practice that even our most oldest members are doing. And I have really had enough of it, this needs to stop.

If you don't like somebody, that is fine, just stop trying to make their life on this site a living hell by fighting everything they do or making stupid memes about them. People have such a hatred of other members on this site, it is just amazing and really sad sometimes.

I will say though for the most part, we have an awesome community, it is just a few people who feel "entitled" or they feel like they run this place that are the problem.

The Ben and Ken one.
No -blam!- -blam!- the Ben and Ken one, I'm talking about the 3 that went off without a hitch and had no problems occur.

Thirdly, even if all four were polls, that's not how statistics work. All 4 were polls, they have polls int he OP. That makes them polls. Do you know what a poll is?? I have a distinct feeling you don't.

The pitcher isn't 'everybody' either.Yes he is. The pitcher is being barred from playing. The whole community is being barred from Mail Sack polls and voting. Pitcher = Everyone.

Regardless, no. You JUST said you weren't talking about polls when I called you out on it. Now you are, which makes you wrong about the thing two quotes ago. My post to DeeJ was talking about his irrational fear of letting us vote for -blam!-, which is based on the Ken/Ben incident, which influences his idea that people would use Alts in a Moderator voting type deal (which isn't even what I'm talking about). My post referred to his unwillingness to let us vote for -blam!-, but it was related to everything else as well due to DeeJ's ideas relating it to everything else.

There are tons of cool people on here but there are people who want to be mods for the wrong reasons or will just abuse their power. I do think representation by the community is important but in other ways.

I think there should be other roles community people could have that help the community but not a moderator.
