The game should include skimishers as well.
Though it would be extremly violent, it should show people that the Halo series was not meant for children.

A brute
Imagine playing as a chieftain leading yor brute pack into battle. Or just playing as brute infantry.
Perhaps there could be an arcade sort of game type in a Halo game where you play as a brute dropping into a human city and killing as many humans as possible. There would be cool executions as well.
It is a sad world that we live in when pointless violence and acts of sadism are synonymous with maturity. Personally, I wouldn't go near such a Halo game with a ten foot barge pole.
Dont you get annoyed when people call the Halo series cartoon games, just because the spartans and aliens have other colors than gray, drab, brown and black. It gets on my nerves really.
Not at all, really. I just proceed to tell them that their opinion is cool and all but really ignorant in judging the series' maturity by its superficial looks. There is another phrase like that, it goes like "Don't judge a book by its..."
Themes of genocide, religious indoctrination, fascism, racism, redemption and atonement are things that would likely go right over the head of kids playing the game, and are certainly not for them if they could understand what was going on. And the Covenant are aliens; they don't have to use Human colours and conventions for their military clothing and gear, especially when you can press a button and make yourself invisible. All excessive violence would do is demonize the Covenant and make them typical baddies if you don't get the balance right and show people that this sort of stuff is exclusive to certain groups or individuals.
I don't see people calling Star Trek for kids due to its lack of blood, guts and gore. Well, maybe they do, but I also suppose that discussing whether or not Captain Picard going with the Prime Directive and allowing the Ornarans to continue using Felicium and be exploited was the right thing to do would be wasted on such people.
Suppose that they add scenes of graphic violence where Elites literally butcher innocent people with energy swords? What does it add? Well, it's not for kids... What do we lose? Well, I'm pretty sure that it would tarnish the Elites character forever unless you are also willing to heavily emphasise the extreme rarity of such barbarism. Suppose they show you Grunts eating people alive? That would pretty much destroy their character as the timid and diminutive creatures we have always known. Suddenly they are like Gorilla's who will tear you're face off if you even look at them wrong.
But hey, so long as all aliens are mindless monsters with no feelings or character of their own what does it matter? They don't need values of their own, do they?
Really well thought arguments there, I now agree with you to some point. It would indeed ruin the feel we get when we see grunts in the games.
But didnt bungie try to give us that feel of the covenant in Reach, I mean, giving them their alien language back and show us them blowing up civilian fleets packed with innocent families, but showing them eating civilians would desroy the picture we got of most covenant races. Exept for brutes, we knew since Halo 2 that they were brutal warriors with no ethical rules. In Reach we even saw them break the spine of one or two civilians, showing off a bit more gore when the brutes did theirs would not hurt the relationship most have to them.
This goes for the flood also, they were supposed to be- gory, slimy, deformed and violent. Most of the times we are introduced to them in the games the scene is packed with creepy music and few lights, so I think that addding more gore and graphical violence to the flood and the missions they are a part of would actually further develop what they were meant to be.
