Please tell me that in halo 3 I will be able to use XBL's avoid player function to prevent myself from having to play cheaters, bridgers, quitters, ever agin. So that if i get cheated or have an unpleasant experience in a game i can simply use the avoid player function and not have to play them again in MM. I hope this will be implemented into the game so that I can avoid the players that would hinder my enjoyment in matchmaking.

And if all the legitimate players were able to avoid the cheaters( not saying h3 will have them but it seems likely) they would only be able to play other cheaters.

Well yes, but then those players could avoid you if they so chose. But it would be nice to be able to prefer the players that were good sports and the like. The fact that you could avoid cheaters would be more than worth it though, I wouldn't care about getting beat by better players, but cheaters winning just makes me so angry.

It might do more harm that good to use the avoid function.

People seem to have quite a large EGO in Halo and that if they get raped then they would avoid the player so they wouldn't lose legit again. Do this to everyone you lose to and you will barely be able to find many matches ever again.

Also for the cheaters, if you click avoid the cheater ... what good does it do? The chances of you playing that same person ever again is slim to nill, so it really doesn't effect the outcome anyways.

There are going to be so many people inside the new matchmaking system that the chances of you playing anyone twice is going to be very rare.

The avoid function states that you will be "least likely to be matched against 'x' player" Its not a definite solution. Again, we don't know what bungie will have up their sleeves for Halo 3.

well it is part of XBL, so I am hoping that makes it mandatory. But I have to think the good outweighs the bad here, avoiding cheaters is a very big plus, then their rep goes down. I know that I wouldn't be avoiding people who beat me, as you said the chances I play those people again are slim, but I would feel the need to do something to hurt cheaters and to be positve I do not have to play them again.

How many people acctually use the "avoid" feature at all? I doubt very many. I've used it a total of 4 times on CoD2: three times against guys who couldn't hit a target to save their lives, and once for one guy who raped our whole team by himself. I doubt it'd be a big deal. Plus, there will be so many people playing H3, you could avoid every player you meet, and still get in games easily.
