"So much of what we do is ephemeral and quickly forgotten, even by ourselves, so it's gratifying to have something you have done linger in people's memories." John Williams

Actually, Urk is.

I can't help but keep seeing this pop up on twitter from re-tweets, replies etc. There isn't a thread on this already, so I thought I'd take that up. I'm excited, but unsure. I'm not sure what to think of this. Perhaps once this week unfolds we might get more information.

TL;DR: Oni II or just getting excited?

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

I've never played Oni, but that sounds like it could turn into something awesome.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I played Oni on my PS2 a few times, the controls were not very good, lol.

“Oh, it’s a little bit of everything, it’s the mountains, it’s the fog, it’s the news at six o’clock, it’s the death of my first dog, it’s the angels up above me, it’s the song that they don’t sing, It’s a little bit of everything.”
- Dawes, A little bit of everything

Awwww yeah!

I'm even more intrigued and excited now. Anyway, I don't think it's Oni II, but rather something completely new.

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

They're not working on Oni II....

His tweet truly proves that this game is pretty far in development for him to bring a build home. Awesome stuff.

You imply a level of control over Halo: Reach matchmaking that we no longer have. Or, in your vernacular, it isn't our shiznit anymore.

"Good sign"

I guess Oni II is a possibility but I'm pretty sure he was joking (or I didn't catch the joke). It's good news to hear that the game Bungie is working on is already addicting, we're probably a few months away from a reveal. The employees' excitement is sure contagious.

Getting excited. Though whether or not the game will be a first person shooter like Halo or more of a third person shooter like Oni will be seen in time.

Alright, so the time has come to stalk the children of Bungie Employees and pester them with questions about the game.

Children will break.

I am surprised employees can bring it home. At least we know there is a playable build out.

Couldn't this also mean Halo CE? He could be talking about how good it feels to have a brand new universe, like Halo.

Not neccessarily, it could just be a very elaborate version of Conway's Game of Life.

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

I don't know what he means, but it could just as easily be a Halo CE or even Half Life or Everquest reference.

Or a trillion other games we were playing 11 years ago.

  • 07.22.2012 9:11 PM PDT

I think he's referring to Halo: CE.

Awesome to hear they're already taking builds of the game home... that's a massive milestone.

Would you be disappointed if your shirt represented something like The Galactic Empire? I sure as hell wouldn't. If these factions are joinable I doubt Bungie would make a group that someone wouldn't want to join because of their intentions.

The person who posted ONI II was merely speculating and it was posted as a question, so why are people assuming it's ONI II?

*ahem*

Why, Oni 2 would be a most welcome addition to Bungie's game cabinet.
