I know that halos kill the food. You just made yourself look like a (i qoute you) "an 8 year old" retard.

one. halo's don't kill the flood. it kills the food. FFS.

two. qoute? now who's 8?

three. im actually "A 14 year old" retard. i blame the car that hit me.

four. look on halo1. cortonna clearly states "This ring doesent kill the flood, It kills their food. Covenant, Humasn, WHATEVER! we're all equably edible" after chief say's "If we activate Halo's defense, we can stop the flood!!!"

HaHa. 8 year old.

If the halos were designed to kill the food of the flood and ULTIMATELY kill the flood and it worked in many simulations according to 343 guilty spark. Then the halos didn't do their job the first time the forerunners activated them. Proof you ask?

First, STFU, don't attack me when you don't have any better ideas youself. First off the Halos were not ment to kill the flood, they were ment to kill anything with sufficient biomass to support the flood for their combat and carrier forms.

THE FLOOD IS STILL HERE and we are fighting them. I read some guy's "hot topic" post about how the world is going to END anyways and i kinda agree. If the HALOs didn't work back then, then why would it be any better now. I don't know HOW bungie will explain this in HALO 3.

Second, once again, the Halos were not ment to kill the flood. They were ment to kill their food, which it did, except for, in my theory, the Forunners who are the present day humans.

MY REASONS FOR MY THEORY

1. 343 GS refers to all humans as 'Reclaimers', which is shone in Halo: The flood when 343 GS and MC are in the Library, and MC comes across a Marvin Mobuto, Staff Sargent, and 343 GS says," The other Reclaimer."

2. In Halo 2 Tartarus makes Miranda Keyes activate Halo with the Index. Why didn't he do it himself?

3. Master Cheif and the other Spartans seem to, for some reason, be able to use Forunner technology, even though they haven't seen it before. This is shone by MC being able to activate the energy bridge in Halo 1. And even Cortana didn't know how to use the Forunner Technology untill she was put into the system at the Control Room.

And that crap about me needing food after a day, well if I was asleep I would not need food because my body uses very little energy when I am asleep. So, from a logical standpoint, when the flood ran out of food, which eventually will happen after being in one place for such a long time, they would go into a sleep so as to stay alive.

So think before you start to attack my logic, your theory on the flood makes no sense at all. How would they still be alive if they had no food, and did not go into hibernation for 101,217 years, which was after the Halo rings activated, and destroyed all sentient life.

Your logic is very good. I wondered that myself. But, everyone and everything (whether video game world or not) has to go through evolutionary process. For example, when the dinosaurs died out, one way or another, some still lived and then died. Even still, many animals lived after the greatests beasts to awlk the land were destroyed by nature. The flood probably did the same thing. No matter what the forerunners did, a little speck of life from the flood still existed and probably evolved into a more advanced form. Then, it most likely reproduced over and over. Do you see what i'm saying? Eventually the flood found food elsewhere, even on Halo. Just because they were trapped or because we never saw any animals in the game, doesn't mean they don't exist. Except for Halo 2, on the regret mission, you can see bird like animals flying.
It's all possible.

one. halo's don't kill the flood. it kills the food. FFS.
Which essentially means that the halos kill the flood. If you take away an organism's resources, you're still killing the organism.

two. qoute? now who's 8?You are.

three. im actually "A 14 year old" retard. i blame the car that hit me.So you're only 6 years off what I thought you were: 8.

four. look on halo1. cortonna clearly states "This ring doesent kill the flood, It kills their food. Covenant, Humasn, WHATEVER! we're all equably edible" after chief say's "If we activate Halo's defense, we can stop the flood!!!"Yeah...which means...the rings kill the flood, because the rings kill their RESOURCES. It's basically indirectly killing the flood. Starving something to death is the same as killing it.

I WENT TO EDIT MY FIRST POST AND CAPITALIZED THE WORD "FOOD" BECAUSE ALL THESE IDIOT ARE TRYING TO CORRECT A MISTAKE WHEN THERE IS NO MISTAKE AND THEY CAN'T FREAKING READ CORRECTLY.

HOLY SHIITE!! I'M SICK OF SAYING THIS, WHY THE H3LL DO YOU THINK THAT THE FLOOD GOES INTO HIBERNATION. JUST BECAUSE YOU THINK IT MAKES A LOT OF SENSE THAT THEY GO INTO HIBERNATION, DOESN'T MEAN THEY WILL!!!!!!!!!!!IT WAS NEVER MENTIONED BY BUNGIE THAT THEY WENT IN HIBERNATION ANYWAYS!!!! IF THEY DID THEN TELL ME AND SHOW ME PROOF!!! JEEEZUSCHRIST!!!!!!!

Yeah. That is a plausible theory, but still where would the find enough food to live over a hundred thousand years. Not just that, they were locked up underground the entire time, like it says in the game.

If you want proof that the Flood were not all gone, or were reconstructed (if you read my above statement you can understand) then read HALO:THE FLOOD. 343 Guilty Spark clearly says,(and you won't find this quote in the game), "After remote activation, the Flood problem seemed to stabalize. The threat of the outer worlds procedure was over, and yet Flood remained in an incapacitated state. Whatever flood was left was taken to the installations by the remaining sentinals and moniters. Or perhaps irrecorded remaining forerunners. But I highly doubt that, he he he."
Long quote, even that he he he, and it was from 343 Guilty Spark.

IF you want proof, here it is, quoted by 343 Guilty Spark from the novel HALO:THE FLOOD.

"After remote activation, the Flood containment seemed to stabalized, though my creators were nowhere to be seen, therefore dead. The flood were banished from the galaxy, and yet some remained incapacitated in state, and were taken to the other installations by any remaining sentinals and moniters. Why then, you may ask reclaimer, do the flood still exist if the installations were activated one hundred thousand years ago? Life persists in this universe, whether or not you are a creator or destroyer. My creators knew this, but the flood containment issue was still at large, so, as a last resort, they activated the rings, destroying all sentient life in three radii of the galaxy, starving all the flood to death. And yet, there life force still existed."

Long quote, but it was said.

Oh. I'm sorry. I was agreeing with Bagan Bodies. The fact is, i'm sure Bungie says somewhere whether or not the flood hibernate, but the fact is you can't except that someone else has a different idea than you, I never said your idea was wrong but you say that my idea isn't right, and that the flood don't hibernate, but you can't prove that they don't. I realize that I can't prove that they do, but it makes more sense than that they lived for over 100,000 years without food. And the fact that you say that just because it is logical doesn't mean it is the way things are, just is not right, I mean, ask yourself, would you rather them do what makes sense, or do something that doesn't.

Oh sorry. If you're confused by the two quotes, it is becaused I have a copy of one of the novels (EXCLUSIVELY) before it hit store shelves. ANd also one from Barnes and Nobles AFTER store shelves. A couple things changed, and one was that quote. Hope you're not too confused.

That is true. If Halo is supposed to have a realistic story as they can make possible with some of the most unrealistic stuff, why would they do something that doesn't make sense? Well, first, quite a few movies, books,, and games do that. Second, Laws of physics, it can be re-written in another world, allowing different attributes to anything we could see. And third, the Halo bible probably includes at least a modest form of extreme intelligence, extreme handwork, or even a tiny amount of forerunner or godly magic.

but that means humans are failures because aren't the humans forunners still if so humans/forunners killed themselfs to save the universe but in countinuation it may have been super animals from earth since all things on earth contain the same gentic code still if you do look at this it does means they died for no reason but at the same time died for a reason as seen the moniters call master chief and the other humans reclaimers proving humans have something to do with halo before they learned of it

343 GUILTY SPARK:

Why naturally the Flood is simply too dangerous to release, and mass sterilization protocols may again need to be enacted. Of course, samples were kept here after the last catastrophic outbreak...for study. It seems... that decision may have been an error.

(Another hallway)

343 GUILTY SPARK:

The installation was specifically built to study and contain the Flood. Their survival as a race was dependent upon it. I am grateful to see that some of them survived to reproduce.

*sigh. * heres your evidence. look at the text. samples were kept here after the last catastrophic outbreak

so there ya go. theres your evidence that the flood were in stasis. why? b/c they were kept as samples. and in order for them not to DIE, they had to remain in stasis. they were being biologically tested to see if there is any way to beat them other than mass suicide. so THAT IS WHY THEY ARE STILL HERE. b/c they are pretty much left over samples that were released out of stasis sleep by the covie (possibly orchestrated by Truth)

and GS says he's glad some of them managed to reproduce. plz DO NOT tell me he's talkin about the flood. cuz that would be..........um..........stupid? why would you be happy to see the thing youre tryin to kill reproduce?

so there ya go. of course there will be SOMEone who just has to disagree with actual quotes and concise explanations.

but thats the beauty of the forums, right?

Nice try. Because someone else has posted this or something similar and I already explained this. I alread pointed out that it was a weird comment made by GS that he was "glad" that the flood survived to reproduce. Look at previous pages for more info.

To argue my point: GS only said that the halo was built to "study and contain" the flood. "Study and contain" only while they are alive because who is going to study them if they are all dead after the activation of halo.

this took place on another galaxy whr it was devoid of life the flood were not dead they were dormit slowly dying
they had not completely died out
and then the pillar of autumn and the covenant ships following came to installation 04 and unlocked the flood from their prison
that caused them to flourish again
the forerunners were in a way successful
but in a way they also failed
it was both our's and the covenant's fault for giving the flood food again.
you were looking at this from the wrong point of view
we awakened the flood and put our very existance at stake

You can now end this senseless arguing.... "You have no idea how this ring works, do you? Why the forerunners built it? Halo doesn't kill flood, it kills their food. Humans, covenant, whatever. We're all equally edible. The only way to stop the flood is to starve them to death. And that's exactly what Halo is designed to do; wipe the galaxy clean of all sentient life. You don't believe me?
