Subject: Why doesn't Bungie allow us to Report the Mods?

Don't judge a book by its cover, unless it has bacon on the cover, then it is a good book.

-Me

Do they trust them so much that they don't fear they will ever cross a line? or do they simply not want to have mods for the mods?

I feel we need to be able to report them. We are essentially in a dictatorship were if we speak out against our overlords we get hit with a ban hammer. that is why I would like the option to report moderators.

They're meant to enforce the rules, they trust them to follow them. Find me a bannable situation concerning a mod.

  • 07.23.2012 2:39 PM PDT

I like to think of myself as an AI - I hunger for information, and I know, one day, that hunger will be my ultimate demise.

Most of the mods know the Dev team on a personal level, so they trust them absolutely.

But absolute power corrupts absolute...

That feature would be abused.

You already answered your own question though, they truly trust these mods. The mods found here don't just mod here, they have other sites too. The report feature is FOR the mods, it is what WE do to alert the mods of a post that might break the rules.

Besides, if a mod really breaks the rules, just call them out on it, they'll ban themselves. ;D (Looking at you Recon)

If you really have a problem just PM their superior e.g. Master Ninja, or Deej or whoever.

They do, it's just different than pushing the report button.

Can I report bad Forum Ninjas?

If you feel that you have been wronged by a Forum Ninja or have an issue about a Forum Ninja that you would like to have addressed, your first step is to contact a Master Forum Ninja. After you have made contact with them, they will be able to take care of the issue, or advance it to Achronos.

  • 07.23.2012 2:44 PM PDT

Tell me what good it would do. The moderator is the one that controls the report queue. They could remove themselves.

If you have a problem with a moderator, you ask a master moderator or Deej for help.

Bye.

I'm sure people would think they're being funny start reporting mods. It's best to keep the mods out of the report queue. :-)

What I'd like to know is if the mods have a report button? Or is it replaced with the
"unleash ninjas" button?

“Strange,” mused the Director, as they turned away, “strange to think that even in Our Ford’s day most games were played without more apparatus than a ball or two and a few sticks and perhaps a bit of netting. imagine the folly of allowing people to play elaborate games which do nothing whatever to increase consumption.”

You think that's bad? Moderators can't report anyone! I kind of feel sorry for them.

  • 07.23.2012 2:51 PM PDT

What a hipster.

"Oh, you banned me, let me just HNNNG!"
Every moderator is good as blocked.
if your problem is bad enough just do this, I'm sure they would be more than happy to help.

Racism isn't wrong if it's funny.

Think about how you would report a policeman. Now imagine that difficulty saddled with 'we don't care, it's up to their discretion'.

That's where you are with the B.net Mods. They're appointed so that Bungie doesn't have to do it in the first place.
Plus, I've very rarely seen a Mod ban for a situation that in no way warranted it.

I broke one of the cords for my X11s because I couldn't get past the final American course in Doritos Crash Course.

I imagine its not about trusting the mods, its about trusting the community.
Many people on here who get banned by a particular mod, especially on more than one occasion, are likely to hit the report button every time they see one of their posts as an act of protest or getting them back, the report queue doesn't need that.

Well, we do manage the report queue...It would be kind of stupid for us to see ourselves in there.

You are allowed to report us if you feel we are out of line, though. You can message DeeJ or Achronos.

Thread maker, you can also message me just like these two.

It's just I won't do anything about it like those two might. I just like hearing stories.

Because we don't have no rights son. The mods are pretty trustworthy so I doubt we'd ever have to report one.
