personally, I hate the idea with a passion. I've used the visible health bar so many times for tactical decisions in halo that I couldn't fathom counting them. taking out the health bar won't do anything to fix people hiding for their shields to recharge. If they see their shield bar down, then you'd better beileve they'll go wait for it to recharge.

i picked nay also, but if bungie has a good reason for it, and it helps balance the game out then im all for it...if not then i think its just another option in MP to take the health off, like how u can take shields off now....idk it doenst matter when halo 2 comes out an ur playing it u wont really care i bet....u wont care cause u are playin the greatest game in the history of games, so u wont b botehred by it trust me....

I just think the HUD was one of the most distinct trademarks of the game and messin with it at all makes me cringe...but taking out the health bar? Ridiculous.

I don't really mind. You were dead with one pistol shot to the head (with low shields) in the original, so I don't really see a difference.. Meh..

I love the idea because i'm one of those people you always catch on low health just after a battle, an easy kill? (with Halo 2) not anymore!

People, they didn't take out the health meter, they simplified it. There's a box beside the shield meter that changes colours depending on your health status (as far as my eagle-eye can see.) Calm down.

Yeah, it was noted on the 5240 boards.

According to those who have played, there is not REAL health. After your shields are down you can take 3-6 bullets supposedly without dying. But I also heard the shield recharges faster because of the new suit. Not to mention the bar is also a lot longer now.

But did anyone notice how there's only one ammo counter when you dual wield?

I wonder, if there is no health bar, will there be health packs? I hope there is SOME way to know your vitality. Maybe there will be some color coded thing.

i want the old bars back. i liked those. but maybe something with a percent counter would work (ie. full health is 100%, good health is 95%, half-health is 50%, and critical is something like 10%). get my drift?

I dont like the "no health bar" thing either but...

Bungie might have an ace up their sleeve... dunno what..( i hope it is a spade)

MC has a new suit.. keep that in mind

Halo 2 is still a work in progress

Exactly, in all the hands-on reports I've read, everyone says it acts just like the original. So, I say yay, Bungie know what they're doing.

you were dead with one pistol shot when you had no shields, yes, but what about the assault rifle? what about the shotgun at 30 meters? maybe you could survive 2 or 3 needler rounds.

for me, the health bar has been the basis of countless tactical decisions in single and multiplayer

I'd like to point out this thread on IGN which covers most people's opinions.

I agree with Septorzero, though we may not see a health bar now that doenst mean it isnt in the final game. Maybe u have the option of wanting it on your HUD or not. We really wont know till Nov. 9th

cmon guys, you're complaining about it and you havent even played it yet. you make it seem like the bungie guys sat down and said 'alright, lets see, how about we take out all the health so after you lose your shields, you're screwed!'

If you notice, in all the write ups, nobody mentioned that it was a problem.

I think If it aint broke, don't fix it!

BUT, i know Bungie would not -blam!- something up as important as your vitality stats.

I trust them to make it work. I mean it's BUNGIE!

I prefer the Snickers Health bar...

it has all the essentila nutrients of a normal health bar but with the great taste as snickers...

dont let hunger get you down!

Hungry? Grab a Snickers!
